Considering breaking some case and selling boxes

Due to the need to clear up some space I am thinking about breaking a few cases keeping 4 to 8 boxes for myself and selling the rest. You might have seen some of the pictures I had on the other forum:

I would like to know if anyone would be interested in doing something like this. It would be like the group pack breaks only with boxes instead of packs.
If you have any questions let me know or if you might be interested go ahead and reply to the thread.
Like I said in the other forum, most of these cases were bought in the 81 - 85 time frame and I have had them stored away since.

If people are interested I was thinking of starting with a 81 FB cello case.

Jim

Yep. I would be interested in this.
Especially would be interested in early-mid 80s baseball.
Fleer and Donruss would be great. Topps too.

I would be interested, but would like to get a gauge on what your going to sell, so I can budget accordingly.

If there is any '78 Topps baseball in there, I might be interested in buying a box.

interested. looking forward to some details. could cause quite a board member frenzy if a bunch of us purchase and bust boxes at the same time. image

    I'd also buy a box. I see some '80s. How about 70's?

If you could, just list what you have and what you want for it.

    Thanks,

    Lee

Thank-you for all the replys. I was thinking of starting off with a 81 Topps FB cello case. Most everything is early 80s and it is a mixture of good cases and junk wax. I was thinking maybe try a case or 2 a month. I do have both FB and BB but no basketball or hockey. I also have OPC wax cases that could be broken.
If we did do this I was thinking I would do it where I would break the case, pull a random box out down the order list, pack it and ship it without even looking in it myself so the person who gets it would be the first to see the cards. I would keep the bottom 4 or 8 boxes in the case depending on whats ordered.
And to anybody that PMd me, I have to work at a high school FB game tonight but I will try to reply tomorrow. I hope this message answers a couple of questions.

    Jim,

there are no words to describe how awesome just the thought of this becoming a reality is. i cannot imagine the proverbial "woodie" that some of our wax hoarders are going to get when they catch wind of this!

btw, what years of OPC Baseball are we talking?

p.s. sweet jesus there are some really amazing sealed cases in those pics! 84D, 82T Cello, 85T SIX box rack (hell, cant even find a three box anymore)

Here are a couple of pictures of the 81 cello case. You can probably see that I bought it through a friend of mine in 1984 from Pacific Trading Cards. It has been stored since, Sure wish I had bought more of them.

What, you mean it isn't the action all-star cards that turns you on??? image

I am hesitant to do an inventory because I don't know exactly which items I am going to sell. Believe me it is tough to let go of anything for me.

    As for OPC I have 83 ,84, 85, 86, and 87. I do also have a 79 but I am not sure if I will break it.

Putting a list out may not be a bad idea.

You'd be surprised. There are plenty of idiots like me that will even buy things like 87,88 and 89 Topps.

I'd actually love to get some Topps AND OPC from those years, if you have them.

Not high dollar stuff, obviously, but if you're looking to move it, I'd be glad to oblige. image
