Corporation Day, Outsource Day, Offshore Day?

Why is it called Labor Day? Wouldn't Corporation Day, or Outsource Day, or Offshore Day be a better fit?
The jobs that once gave Americans a piece of the pie have gone by, by, in the name of bottom line.
9.1% UE, is what the BLS is pimping, but the real UE is probably 22%.
Gooberment arrives at 9.1% by only counting those actively seeking a job, not those who
have lost their benefits, or those who just gave up. So a big round off applause for those
responsible for shipping jobs elsewhere. China, India, Indonesia,
Taiwan, South Korea and Eastern Europe, make it all possible.

And, by the way, how many jobs have you been responsible for creating? Are you hiring?
Spelling edit.
The BLS does have the U-6 unemployment model available each month which includes workers who would want a job but may be outside the reporting window the BLS employs.
Last I checked this number was around 17%. John Williams of Shadowstats takes it a step further to use the same model employed decades ago where even discouraged
workers are included in the roles. That number is around 22%. The BLS wisely only reports the lower number each month rather than the more accurate, and much higher
unemployment numbers. The average American is probably not aware that a U-6 number is even being tracked.

I knew it would happen.
Yes, but the original post made no effort to expound upon those.
From Yahoo Finance:
14,000,000 unemployed
8,800,000 part-timers who want to be full timers
2,600,000 stopped looking
25,400,000 total
An unemployment rate of 9.1 would infer a denominator of 154,000,000.
25.4M / 154M = 16.5%
It's very easy to criticize. My original response was meant more as a "what are you personally doing about this situation"?, not a personal attack. My apologies if it came across as one.
And I have created one job.
Another spelling edit.
In essense, Wingsrule poses the question ... What have you done this year to make it better?
I throw mine in to keep it moving in that direction, not for anything else.
I added one and a half (part-timer) to my group (from 6 to 7.5). I am currently looking for another part-timer, and depending on a few near-term situations, I may add another full-timer. Hopefully at least one of the part-time positions will move into a full-time role by January.
I found a manufacturer of a quality, higher dollar part that I use often (Variable Frequency Drives) that is manufacturing a line in America, using a majority of American parts, by Americans. I basically dropped all other lines of VFD's (of which I would guess at least 95% are now off-shore), and have given them my business (about 100. K so far this year).
I'd like to hear other hiring and bringing it back stories.

GE paid zero in corporate taxes last year, while getting a huge bailout for GE capital, exporting American jobs, and now their CEO is telling other firms' CEOs to buck up and stop complaining.
UPS pays one of the highest corporate tax rates, and USPS pays how much in corporate taxes? <<<zero>>> And they still can't compete! The Question of the hour is - why can't the USPS compete?
This is exactly what happens when the government picks the winners and the losers. Any bets on whether the Post Office gets more money or not?
I knew it would happen.
