My favorite coins

While not the most expensive in my collection, my favorite coins are a 1942 proof set, housed in a nice Capital plastic holder.
I've had it for almost 40 years and still get pleasure from it, particularly from the Walker and the Merc, which are very nice examples.
When I finally am able to photograph my coins, I'll post some shots here on the forum.
So I ask other posters, are your favorite coins necessarily the most expensive in your collection?

I own alot of coins.
The 'pride factor' might play on a more expensive coin .
But as far as 'enjoyment' ....I receive the same enjoyment looking at a 1000 dollar coin as I do looking at a 50 dollar coin.
Thats what makes all coins ....'enjoyable'.

I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

He who knows he has enough is rich.
a bunch of slabed this and that, and alot of other stuff, BUT I do have this old Whitman 9009 Jeff
book that I've had for 40 years and its complete from AG to BU, it has duct tape holding it together
and all its residents have been popped in and out so much over time, everytime I open it up 90%
of them fall out and go everywhere, it take me hours to put them back, But, ya know, it is my FAVORITE

I hope I don't need to explain why I love this coin.

As you wish
Pretty much my favorite coin.

My favorite is my 1795 half eagle in PCGS AU-55 because it is more attractive and it was among the first of the U.S. gold coins. I know that wording is weird, but according to the die variety / emission sequence date, it was not made from the first die pair.
Cost, how expensive...seems to have little bearing on 'favorite' for me. The whole story...the whole reason for the coin being a collector piece, eye appeal, rarity, unusual history or place in numismatics...all come to bear.
I see things slightly different than Id say 95% of collectors out there.
Cheers, RickO
my favorite is finding something odd or different.

<< <i>My favorite coins are usually so because of their quality within the grade, and the difference between what an avg one looks like and what my coin looks like. They are not necc the most expensive ones.
My favorite nickel.
What is grade of this nickel? Is is a D or P?
Thanks!
<< <i>Here is my favorite, fantasic eye appeal. Under graded at AU53

It's tough for me to call any of my Buffs my "favorite" but I do love this one. This is an MS-64, yep undergraded without question, and very purdy....Joe

<< <i>I don't per se have a favorite, it can vary over time. It is certainly not my most expensive coin, a (rattler) MS61 1802 DBHE $1, although I will say that that one is always near the top. Here's one I always enjoy looking at...
Wow, nice piece ya have there!! Love the color.

ambro51, I said it before but you sound like an ancients collector.
And that's a good thing.
