You may wish to block an Ebayer

I don't normally bash the trash, but you may wish to block this Ebayer: eyelovecoins
Buyer purchased a $43 PCGS ms69 commemorative Jamestown. Prior to the purchase I received this message: "how low will you go?" Ok I get it.
Should have been somewhat apprehensive, but wasn't. So I respond $43 & buyer subsequently purchases the coin.
Upon receipt of the coin buyer sends a message demanding I replace the coin because he feels it is overgraded, and the slab has a scratch on it.
He indicates in his message that if I don't replace the item, he will "taint" my 100% positive feedback.
Now I don't really wish to deal further with this buyer, and have a clear no return policy in my listing.
Buyer demands a replacement, and I refuse. Took a hit from 100% feedback down to 96%.
Just an FYI

Keep his message, give it to ebay and tell them to remove the FB since it was FB extortion.
Won't that work?

I agree. Sounds like feedback extortion. Good luck with the outcome!

Feedback extortion is not allowed by eBay and hopefully they'll do something about it.

Same here...he must have come up on a previous forum thread.

Why doesn't eBay have this as one of their services? Maybe it would cost them some money?

Bad publicity. They don't want you to know anymore than they show you.

I thought this was kind of weird feedback since how could you possibly list a multi-item listing WITHOUT using "Stock Photo's"?
Then I started to think, hey wait a minute, the seller DOES have more than one of these MS69 Jamestown Commem's. He actually has 3 left waiting to be sold!
IMO, this neg could have been avoided had you complied with the buyers request which, despite your wording, amounted too, "I didn't care for the coin you sent, could you send me one of the other three you still have available in the listing?"
Why didn't you just send him one of the other 3 coins you still have left instead of simply offering a refund?

John Maben's remark got me to looking ( "That's funny! Saw another feedback he left for someone that was positive but described the item as a waste of money, decided to block, and guess what??? He's already on my (huge) block list! Hahaha....")
I keep track of all the eBay account's I block based upon forum threads and this fellow was reported in this THREAD because of "bid retractions". (He'd submit high bids just to see what the other folks were bidding and then retract the bid.)
Of course, this was back in September 2006...................AND.................eyelovecoins is not his original eBay account name which used to be "wilsontb777".
So, he's blocked but not because of this thread.

Ebay help, type in block bidder for instructions. You will have a saved blocked bidder list.

worthy points.
and I never use stock photos for coins.
even if I have multiples of the same grade.
I always list separately and provide separate photos of the coins' front and back.
and the seller could have offered a different coin. It's possible the person might go for it. In my hunch, I think the guy planned to """talk""" him lower than $43 after the sale all along.

Thanks for the heads-up.
The guy only left one negative comment in 2 years. I sure wouldn't block him based on one story about a $43 coin!
Here's another one to watch out for.
<< <i>Thanks for the heads up. I had a similar experience a few years ago where the buyer came right out and said "I'm gonna neg you!". After he did, I forwarded the email thread to Ebay, and they ultimately did nothing. Another coddled buyer, I guess. I really hope your experience is better and they remove the neg. >>
I had a guy last year bought a $200 BIN item and weeks later i got a message on Ebay from him saying at $200 there was no room for him to make a profit and he had been to several venues attempting to do just that. His resolution/suggestion/demand was i refund 33% and if i chose not to i would get a neg.Our conversation was all ebay messages , he said at least twice in plain english that if i did not refund 33% i will be negged. I thought i was a certainty to have Ebay on my side as weeks had went by before his demand.I of course told him No , got negged and ebay said there's nothing can be done about it.It took a year to get back to 100%.If that wasn't feedback extortion i don't know the definition of the word.It seems to depend on who you get dealing with you as to outcome.

We'd never know unless the actual email's were included in the thread.
I know that in the past, I have complained about the "multi" coin I received and was sent a replacement after I returned the item originally sent.

With all due respect, you had multiples of the coin offered, why didn't you just let the guy send his back and send him another one? Seems like you cut off your nose to spite your face on this transaction.

Read the FB he left as a buyer....Reminds me of Sarge
This is a direct quote from one of the messages he sent to me:
"As I previously said; this coin is for my personal collection. If I had bought it to resell the coin it would not matter to me.
FYI; because of this whole problem I am currently bidding on a ms70 coin to replace this one."
The "currently bidding on a ms70 to REPLACE this one" threw me. The "whole problem" is that you wanted a 70 to begin with.
Took the feedback hit & moved on as a legit ebayer.

This is the primary reason I do not automatically block some random ebayer based upon one side of the story. Were there any other "mis-statements" made?
