Anyone have an opinion on the $59.99 price tag with silver below $35?

It's priced somewhat low compared to proof bullion coins issued by the other major mints. People are willing to dish out $56 per oz for unc. "hockey pucks," then a proof ASE should be around $70. image

The same opinion I had when silver was $14, and proofs were $30.
They are the worlds largest coin dealer, and can charge what they want.

Other country's mint offerings have a higher premium to spot for their ouncers, than the U.S has on their Eagles.

I see them as primarily bullion coins and absent significant die varieties or exceptionally low mintages, the coins will likely fall in value when silver goes down (if it goes down). I wouldn't wager it. I'm not buying any bullion coins from the mint at this time.

At $49.99 I'd load up. At $59.99 I might buy one or two.

A $26 per ounce premium is high.

The Mint can charge what ever it wants to.

I in turn, can decide not to buy.

I've always bought Mint coins, silver & gold. That's changed as of now.
I believe Bomama has "suggested" they charge as much as possible to help with the national debt. Period and waiting.

So I guess now we know what the Mint's measuring stick for pricing them is-- ebay.
