1847 is definitely scarcer than the "C", "D" and "O" coins of that year.

Great pick-up. Hard to zoom in close with my iPad -- what is next to the 7 in the date? Die chip? I think the way the 2 1/2 looks is very nice, with the 2 at an angle and the 1/2 parallel to the bottom. Thanks for sharing!
