I've got the half-cent, but not the other 3 (that you have).....I like that half!!!

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I like it! Are you going to finish it? A nice, XF-AU 1810 1/2c shouldn't be too hard to find, especially compared to the cent you already have. Then you can get to work on this year's bicentennial set. image

Yup! I plan to pick up the half cent. Will check around online to see if any dealers have one listed.

The 1810 half cent does not get as much press as its 1811 big sister, but it's still a very scarce coin. Years ago, when I was collecting half cents by die variety, I had a nice VF-EF example. By commercial standards it would have been graded EF. The coin tends to come with a less than sharp strike.

BTW way, neat set! I recently completed a 1795 year set with the addition of the Draped Bust Dollar. The set is a wonderful piece of history, but like the 1910 coins, it's big sister, the 1796 year set, gerts a lot more press. There was a "Mr. 1796" who tried to collect a 1796 "Proof set," but there has never been a "Mr. 1795."
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Very neat. I've always liked the idea of collecting one of each for a particular year.

Are you referring to John Whitney Walter? He had a 1796 set for each die marriage and exhibited it at shows now and then. Stack's sold it in the late 90s. That's one of the catalogs I kept after the Great Bookshelf Collapse of 2010.

Great set, Ankur. I love the look of the bust half and the $5. Have you considered a custom
wooden holder for all 4 coins (when you find a nice half cent) to use as a display? Along with
some history on 1810, it would make a great exhibit.

I'm surprised nobody has complimented the large cent yet, that is a very nice planchet and strike for the type.

Start with 1816--only 1 coin denomination (large cent) was minted that year
