With all the new turmoil in Libya it will be interesting to see what gold opens at in Asia

JustacommemanJustacommeman Posts: 22,847 ✭✭✭✭✭
This joint effort bombing all took place after market close on Friday. In fact on Friday during NY trading a Libya crease fire pared oils and golds gains from the open. Oil pulled back $3 from the high off day.

I'm guessing oil will spike in the morning (I'm in Asia) and take gold with it. I'm not one to predict but gold COULD see a new high. It is what it is.

Agree. Starting a third war has to be bullish for PM's.

So, does a power vacuum in the Middle East constitute a Black Swan event for metals? Depends on what happens to the "excess" oil supply in Saudi, I think.

How many wars at one time and how many participants before we call it "World War?"

Is that what they are calling the firing of over 100 tomahawk cruse missles at the air defenses of another country?

He better not watch the Brazilian national news. I left Sao Paulo last night and saw a disparaging commercial that was repeated many times while at the airport. It was a montage of posters, you know, the Hope and Change posters. Well, they were morphed into No Hope and despair with a beaten down President.... He's not well received there.

    I don't think so, Tim.

So far it appears to be a Non Event. It remains to be seen if that holds when the US Market opens.

Gold should pull back shortly to <$1420 to close that Sunday night overseas gap. Too big a gap to leave open very long.

Hebrews, from the Bible...New Testament..........therefore Christian.

BTW, Muslims read the Torah, Gospels, and Psalms (when they can get a copy) to supplement the Koran. Most don't because they are not available. Since the Koran supercedes the Bible it is the final authority. They also revere Adam, Abraham, David, Solomon, and Jesus. The similarities end there though.

Martin Armstrong says some interesting things about June. He also says that the main problems are worldwide sovereign debt default and the likelihood of a worldwide food crisis - and that Libya is only a peripheral influence on gold, as is inflation.

How & When - Martin Armstrong

Armstrong says that if we don't get a low in gold within its rising channel in June, we are likely to see gold spike rather high, with a subsequent blowoff around $1775.

He says that if gold makes it's low and starts to make a transition from being seen as an inflation hedge to a sovereign debt default hedge, then it is making a critical phase transition. If that transition is now occuring, he wants to see a low for gold in June which then leads to an interesting 8.6 years in his cycle, i.e. a real explosion in gold price moves, reflecting sovereign debt defaults and governmental collapses.

His model is the Economic Confidence Model that tracks hot money as it flow around the world. The more I read of his stuff, the more sense he starts making. And of course, he sounds "crazy" to the uninitiated.

We used 125 missles already at cost of $125 million. No worries. The war machine is always great for the economy. Guess we need to replace what we used. We will just add it to the debt. Its all going to collapse anyway. Nobody cares.
