I've got a great big box of gold and silver
It's just that the contents of that box isn't the be-all, end-all of my existence
And, despite the challenges America and the world faces (when in history have there not been challenges?)
I am VERY optimistic about the future of Humankind, America, and Earth
(some individuals and groups of people are doomed to relative failure... again, how is this in any way new?)
For most people, the future will be bright if they work hard and make good decisions

I second that. I really get tired of hearing the whining. Seems to be becoming the new American way

"It didn't pay to bet against America in 1776 and it won't pay to bet against America today."
-Warren Buffet, paraphrased from a forum held in Omaha after the airing of a movie about the US debt
I have gold and silver because I need something to anchor my other assets. Which tend to be optimistic, positive-growth, swing-for-the-cheapseats ideas.

"How did you become so successful?"
"Good decisions!"
"But how did you know how to make good decisions?"
"Experience!"
"Yes, but how does one get experience?"
"Bad decisions!"

That's nice to say, hope for and believe in...but it's a pipe dream. The only way you ever get anywhere is to work for yourself and not for a Company.
Now if you mean making and acting out on a good, well thought out decision that may fail, but you feel that you had to give yourself a chance by at the very least trying...Amen brother.

I see how my father and brother struggle owning their own business and believe me I would rather work for a company. I have been with the same company fo 25 years, a rarity in today's economy. Small businesses really have it hard with the government on their backs. But I guess it also depends on what type of business you are in.

It's George Bush's fault.
As usual, it appears that positive-attitude people who work hard and make good decisions do really well, and lazy pessimistic people with poor reasoning skills who blame others for their situations continue to complain about how unfair the world is
I'll be coming home soon and it looks like there are a few ships on the horizon, I'll have some pieces of metal to show on Fridays this fall
hope all my friends and frenemies on the board alike are doing well in their own -ville
