How do you call someone an idiot?

Well I'm sure the majority of the board has had this happen, you contact someone, they tell you their total bv, and their sale value... Which is either at or above book.

What is the best way you have called someone an idiot, since explaining to these people that book value isn't a bible is rather difficult.

Just tell them that their figures are off according to recent/past transactions.

When you show them in front of their own eyes that the things are selling for 1/8 of what they are asking and they refuse to believe it?

Just say thanks, but no thanks.

    Good for you.

why even waste your time and mental energy? If the seller is unreasonable, then just move on. And since you won't be doing business with this seller, the correct answer to your question is, "you're an idiot" - might as well get right to the point.

Yeah Phil it depends on who you are around here.
    Good for you.
  • Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
    Just let it go.

Edited to add: I'm sorry, I thought the question was "how do you measure yourself against other golfers?". I misread. Sorry.

Just tell them that somewhere, an entire village is extremely concerned about his or her whereabouts.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with that, so please don't call me an ageist.

I just enjoyed pointing out the irony in a 19 year old complaining about kids on a baseball card forum.

    "Dear Sean..."
  • You are being an ageist if you are bringing age into anything like that... Period... Mine was having to do with a comment and obviously I know you aren't 16....

I've never dealt with you before and obviously now I won't in the future, still wondering why you would even make an idiotic high school comment such as the one on the previous page....

My understanding is most of the people on the forum are past their high school ways... I guess not.

Ironic that you started a thread on how to call someone an idiot.

We should be thankful that we found a 19-year-old who types in complete sentences and uses punctuation marks! That's half the battle!

Did the OP just call someone an idiot on a thread on how to call someone an idiot?

Calling someone's comment idiot is not calling them an idiot.

The other half of the battle would be an elementary understanding of irony and to move out of mom's basement.

I'm going to be a happy idiot
And struggle for the legal tender
Where the ads take aim and lay their claim
To the heart and the soul of the spender
And believe in whatever may lie
In those things that money can buy

    Are you there?

    Only to surrender

I prefer subtle sarcasm and mockery that is way over their head. Eventually if you are persistent they will understand what you are saying about them. But in the meantime, you have a private little inside joke that will give you several minutes, and possibly hours or days, of enjoyment.

Good thread by the way. These people that go by "book value" are clearly ruining the hobby and need to be set straight. I'm glad someone is taking the initiative.
