Do any other hobbies have forums/message boards similar in quality to the PCGS Forums?

And the NGC Forums for that matter?

I assume that there are chat rooms and blogs, etc. catering to those who collect in other fields. How sophisticated or unsophisticated (compared to the PCGS and NGC Forums) are similar venues in other hobbies?

Many of the same people post at both forums, but if you are talking about funcionality and ease of use, CU forums has NGC beat hands down. I don't like their forum software at all.

Yes they do and even more so.

One of my hobbies is collecting, identifying and photographing mushrooms.

There are some truly awesome mushroom websites out there, with many subforums. Even an OPEN FORUM where people can talk about things other than the forums base topic.

There are a number of travel and running forums that are as good qualitywise as this one. Re travel, I go to some that I think are even better. Re my recent trip to Patagonia, several people who lived in cities / towns I was visiting literally walked me through what to see and where to stay.

One very famous forum for airplane enthusiasts and frequent travellers is FlyerTalk. The number of participants from all over the world is amazing.

  • there are a number of reef aquarium keeping websites out there I used to frequent back in the mid-90's.

TR should start a reef tank and collect down here in so. tx. when he comes fishing. If you stick to the basics and don't overcrowd or overfeed, things should stay manageable.

Garden forums are huge with all different collecting specialties represented.
Cactus and succulents forums in UK, Germany, Czech republic, Australia are great for photos and rare collections.
You can come back after a week and have not missed anything tho.
