SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WeissWeiss Posts: 9,941 ✭✭✭✭✭
Just sold my 10 oz bar of palladium. $7500. Paid $4250 just six months ago.

It is the right thing to do on paper and in my brain. But in my gut? I HATE selling.

I envy you cats who buy & sell all the time. It's like pulling teeth to me.

Well done Weiss! Never regret a profit! image

I feel like Pd will give us one more chance while if you sell that nice 10oz gold chunk you won't be able to buy it back at the same price!

I envy you instead, I would love keeping all my PMs but sometimes I need to convert them into greenish paper bills!

Melty, I think I mentioned that my dealer has a PCGS MS65 SS Central America 1857 $20 piece. He's asking $15k for it. I told him yesterday I'm a buyer at $12500.

He's thinking about it. If it happens, the rest of the deal would be 100 - 150 oz of silver and 1 oz of gold. That should keep my actual out of pocket to somewhere around $6k.

Crazy to parlay PMs to numismatic rarities? Probably.

So I might just pump the money back into PMs on the next dip. If there ever is one image

Yup, that was perfect timing on your part back in June or July. Unfortunately, I did not heed your advice, thinking that it might drop further. Smart move on your part in selling and Uncle Sam will also appreciate it.

Can never get hurt taking a profit

I'm slowly taking profits. I'm getting into a cash position in case the tax cuts are not extended into next year. If they aren't there should be a lot of profit taking between now and the end of the year. This should provide a great buying opportunity (at a lower price) after the first of the year. If tax cuts do get extended, I'll still buy back in on dips after the first. Either way profit taking for tax purposes is getting ready to heat up.

Palladium's not much of a SHTF insurance policy. Nope, this was speculation for growth. I got growth. Time to move it somewhere esle.

And maybe the forum was right about not buying. Remember when you threw it in our face when Pd spiked? image

I'm looking at paperwork from 10-15-2001 where I bought 2oz gold from Paul Simms for 634 dollars.
I have a hand written not on the receipt that says "Traded for 1916-D dime Feb, 2002."

I kinda wish I DIDN'T buy and sell all the time. I need to nurture the inner hoarder.
