    Neat bar. I never knew they made 5 gram silver bars. Doesn't seem very practical considering its melt value is about $4.50.

    It helps to understand that these bars were made in 1980, when silver peaked at $50/oz. That would make the melt value of this bar around $8 in 1980 dollars. Adjusted for inflation, that would represent about $25 in 2010 dollars. Now it becomes clear why they were produced.

    So my wife says since she is pregnant and we need to save money, I can't buy anymore silver for myself this year.

    So...here is my sons (due Dec 31st) 1st silver coin!!! What???? It's not for me...its for him...hahaha!!!

    She didn't think that was very funny, but, I figured you guys would!!!
