If the ACLU and the media hadn't ruined 'profiling' over the years in our ridiculously downward PC spiral I'd say that, in a heartbeat, across the board. >>

Israel practices profiling when screening passengers for El Al airlines which is a prime terrorist target. We should do the same. >>

I've been through their procedure about two dozen times. At first it was annoying because we would fly in every other day for a week and they kept asking us the same questions. The good part was that all the screeners were beautiful 20-25 year old women. The screeners were well picked. image

Well maybe not suicide bombers, but he did employ alot of native americans to scalp white settlers and such...

Arguably, the most attractive women on the planet; tho,
    generally, they age very poorly.

Israel does it correctly. Their results speak for themselves.

But, TSA uses a few of the same "profiling" techniques used
in Israel. We simply don't see the results of those techniques.

TSA's employees are not trained in the same practices used
in Israel. EACH of those gorgeous security-chicks is an expert
in interpreting "micro expressions;" they don't need to feel you
up to KNOW when something is up --- they just chat you up.

The TV show, "Lie To Me" is a good primer on exactly how Israel
    keeps their airports safe.

Israel moves 1/62 of the air-passengers that the US does each
    year.

    ...........................

Since 1985, 260+ self-exploders have been females. TONS of
non-ethnic fems have been trained and are in waiting. British
trained MDs have returned to their home countries and have
mastered explosive breast-implants. A scanner that sees such
anomalies - along with cavity stashes and swallowed items -
is likely VERY close to being introduced. That may be the only
    practical solution for the US.

The TSA-monkeys have neither the time nor the skills to
interview EACH passenger. If we wanna pay each worker
$120K++, and increase the number of workers by 50X, we
could adopt the Israel model; plane tickets would cost about
25X what they cost now. (Israel and El Al both use LOTS of
draftees; they are extensively trained and CHEAP to maintain.
The US cannot duplicate that scheme.)

Boatloads of US gold and silver had been delivered to the
terrorists, before Jefferson and Madison realized that the
US would soon be bankrupt unless they took action.

In the 100-years of terroristic extortion leading to the BWs,
gold and silver prices/values were artificially propped up
by the demand for the metals needed to pay tributes and
ransoms. When stern action was taken, metal prices
    collapsed.

Between 1500 and 1800, about 100-Million people had
been murdered by the terrorists that controlled the African
slave trade; the slave-body count slowed after the Marines
showed up, but still reached a total of 120-Million by 1865.
(Total killed by the terrorists in ALL regions now hovers around
    275M, and the wars continue.)

TSA may seem inept and overreaching, but they have no
choice; they must continue the centuries-old fight.

    First Barbary War

The First Barbary War (1801–1805), also known as the Barbary Coast War or the Tripolitan War, was the first of two wars fought between the United States of America and the North African Muslim states known collectively as the Barbary States. These were the independent Sultanate of Morocco and Tripoli, which was a quasi-independent entity nominally belonging to the Muslim Ottoman Empire.

    First Barbary War

    Second Barbary War

The Second Barbary War (1815), also known as the Algerine or Algerian War, was the second of two wars fought between the United States and the Ottoman Empire's North African regencies of Algiers, Tripoli, and Tunis, known collectively as the Barbary States. The war between the Barbary States and the US ended in 1815; the international dispute would effectively be ended the following year by Great Britain and the Netherlands. The war brought an end to the American practice of paying tribute to the pirate states and helped mark the beginning of the end of piracy in that region, which had been rampant in the days of Ottoman domination (16th–18th centuries).

  • the body scanners would be more of an issue if i flew constantly. The amount of radiation you receive is minimal. you actually get bombarded with more radiation being in the air image

As an old jarhead I would like to think that the Corps helped stopped the slave trade, but about 90% of it came from West Africa and the Green Machine didn't have much of a presence there. If any military group can claim to have stopped the slave traffic it would be The Royal Navy.

The ancestors of today's terrorists built 100% of the "slave routes"
in Africa, between 900 and 1600; their routes were not region-centric
    and spanned the continent.

The Portuguese were very late to the game AND originally had NO
intention of getting into the slave biz; they came for ONE reason:
GOLD. They were introduced to the slave trade by the terrorists
    and other Euro traders followed.

The actions by Jefferson and Madison were devastating to the
primary operators, caused a "democratization" of the trade
and allowed more Euros to jump in.

The Brits' Abolition Act came in the middle of BWII. The Royal
Navy acted heroically to shut down the splintered trade, but
most of their targets were Euros and not part of the long
consolidated portion of the biznez. (The Brits frequently bashed
Madison for making it "too easy" for Euros to operate by his
    weakening of the primary terrorists.)

The Marines played an important role AND the Brits mopped-up
the unintended consequences of Madison's actions. Both forces
    deserve credit.

TODAY, the beat goes on for the descendants of the early terror
gangs. They are STILL capturing/exporting/importing slaves.

  • The centuries old slave trade that existed until prior to 1600 or so really paled in comparision to that which started after the New World began to be settled, the old trade would have been primarily located in Africa and the Middle East, whereas the trade to the New World was based in West Africa, and served both North and South America and the Caribbean. The invention of the cotton gin at the end of the 18th century really made the case for slavery in areas that could grow cotton as the gin could process much more raw cotton and the need for labor intensified. Many of the ships that carried human cargo to the US after that period were American vessels, primarily Yankee traders. The Arabs may have instituted the trade, and the Portuguese may have turned it into big business, but many Americans were involved in, and making huge profits from, the trade in human beings.

Is trading in slaves the only action that defines slavery? What constitutes slavery? Servitude?

Only at certain airports. I suggest Arlanda (Stockholm), Malpensa (Milan), Curitiba (Brazil-where Brazilians say is where the most beautiful women live). I'm sure there are many more locations but all other passengers must wear clothes.

Most should wear two sets of clothes.

I soundly endorse Arlanda as well as a no clothes zone. Even ABBA was sort of hot. MJimage
