I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

His career began with Coin World in the early 1970's where he became editor of the "Collector's Clearinghouse" before joining the staff of the American Numismatic Association, holding the position of senior authenticator for its certification service from 1981-1984. A prolific writer, Mr. DeLorey is the co-author and technical editor of several books and contributing editor to many numismatic periodicals. His efforts have earned him the ANA's Heath Literary Award on three occasions, the Wayte and Olga Raymond Memorial Award twice, and two Numismatic Literary Guild awards. He is a contributor to both the Guide Book and Handbook of United States Coins, as well as other standard references. He also remains a consultant to the ANA Authentication Bureau.
I don't know you, but I'm sure from all the nice comments your a super guy. Retirement is the beginning of a new road and health can be enjoyed while on that trip. It's a matter of attitude, which I believe you know how to manage. Good luck and keep us all informed here.

PNG member, numismatic dealer since 1965. Operates a retail store, also has exhibited at over 1000 shows. I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

By the way, somebody asked one of my colleagues at the Baltimore Show if Mike Printz caming on board at HJB Ltd had anything to do with my retirement. The answer is no. I had discussed it with my wife just before her accident, and how my post-polio syndrome had become too burdensome to continue working, and we had agreed that I was going to talk to Harlan about it. Before I could, I heard that Harlan had been talking to Mike. I then gave Harlan my news, and told him that I thought that Mike would be a great addition to the team. Even had I not already decided to leave, it wouldn't have made any difference. Mike and I are specialists in totally different areas of coins. TD

It has been a pleasure to know you both through our business at shows as well as through your posts on this Forum. Your knowledge is legendary and well-known to Forum participants. But I also want to express my appreciation for your professionalism as well as your fairness, whether buying or selling. And this fairness is so significant that I can remember just about every coin I have bought from you, and every coin I have sold to you.
I look forward to many more thoughtful and insightful posts here, as well as your puns and jokes, which I have also inflicted on the Forum from time to time. About the only downside I see is that you will cherrypick a lot of coins off eBay and those coins won't be there for the rest of us.
