Well obviously someone didn't get the message the recession is "over" and they are searching their house looking for the last bit of money to buy food.

Every time I see stuff like this my mind automatically thinks some rotten kid swiped some coins from grandma and grandpa to buy smokes or something.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Same place same front desk person a couple days ago. She says she's been looking through the coins as she counts and sets aside the old ones and buys them at face value. She had 7 rolls of 1982 (I couldn't resist opening at least one of them). I asked do you have more and she says we had like 20 rolls from the bank but we have been using them in the registers. In my mind I was like FUUUUUUU. I asked if she knew the silver ones were worth 10 to 13X and she said "coins don't do nothing for me." Anyway - I paid face for them and asked her to keep an eye out for any more old coins for me.

I have noticed over the years that "new" 1982's often appear. I think the mom and pop hoarders saved vast quantities of them at the time of the alloy change looking for the big payday, which never came.

No doubt the same scenario is being played out with the 2009 lincolns, in that "new' ones will appear on a frequent basis over the next few decades.

Well, don't bring her home, but bring her a card saying 'Thanks' and maybe a Dunkn Donuts treat. That is a good source. Cheers, RickO

So let me see if I get this straight.... she's been pulling the older '82' pennies out of circulation and buying them at face, but SILVER at 10-13x face DOES NOTHING FOR HER?????image
