I found out a long time ago that the market movers are much quicker than I, have better algorithms than I can come up with, and have the ability to financially manipulate the markets in ways that I can never fully understand. Combine that with my belief that timing the market is something that can never be done successfully often enough, and I have only one option...
I stack a little every paycheck. If it goes up, I stack. If it goes down, I stack. If it goes sideways, I still stack. Dollar cost averaging is something I do believe in...
Remember that the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.
I prefer a stacker over a slacker. The slacker has a hand out just to put his hands in, the stacker has his hands in so he doesn't have to have a hand out.
