Barber Coins as "junk silver" -- what multiple of face?

what is the buy-sell multiple for Barber coins as junk silver these days? Last time I sold any silver it was Washington quarters at 12x. I have zero clue about Barber stuff. TIA.

  • AG Barbers carry very little (if any) premium to standard 90% junk silver. However, full rim coins trade at slightly higher than average 90% junk. Giving an exact figure is impossible due to variances in geographic location, and even from dealer to dealer. But on the whole, I would guesstimate that full "G" or "VG" Barber coins trade at at least a 15-20% premium to the current going rate of regular 90% junk silver.

thanks, that's a start. So if I can sell Washingtons at 12x, I could expect 14x for G+ Barbers?

14-15X face around here for non-culls. a touch more on the 'bay, but when you subtract fees/mess/aggrivation, you'll come out the same.

try locally like craigslist first for the barbers. I sold my barbers for 14-14.5x on craigslist to a local person. Didn't have to worry about fees or anything. If the barbers are worn down, consider them just 90%.

I just sold quite a few Barbers this week. Got 15.5 for G+ , 14 for Good and standard for the slicks/AG stuff.
