Just happened. I'm posting the video shortly. And btw, I hated Indiana Jones 4 - so let's not go there. We all know Indy deals in religious artifacts, not aliens. I'm still hacked off about that one.
I heard that indy 5 is not about aliens and is about a cross so you could be happy about that? Also heard SW 1-6 will be rereleased in 3D starting Feb. 10, 1012 as a way to boost interest and coin to make episodes 7, 8, and 9...

That's good news!! I worry about any new SW episodes, but I'll give Indy 5 a chance.
Thank you guys for watching. And BBG - you actually make me feel so much better. I find myself extremely OCD with things, especially cards. So to hear that someone finds me to be a little reckless is comforting. I promise - I'm extra careful with these cards. I have easy-grade penny sleeves and CS 1's right off camera when I'm doing these - but I hate to make the audience wait while I fumble around for a holder for each card. But rest assured - the minute I stopped rolling, they were stored away for safe keeping. And the Hunter corners are all still sharp.
Thanks again for watching you guys, and as always - I appreciate the suggestions and feedback.
O Canada helped CATFISH and TONY slip out of that pack just fine!
Hope you get a couple 10s out of them. GOOD LUCK!
I think all OPC wax packs contain 4 cards. I know the 52s that were packaged in Canada have 4 cards.
Edited to add: OPC wax from that era.

Terrific job! Very entertaining! I think you did quite well--a couple of the commons look mint to gem mint, and the Perez card looks sharp, too. Does anyone know VCP average for a PSA 10 a common 1966 OPC card?

Could not find ANY listings for a "10". Even the "9s" that sold were from at least a year ago, with many from 2007 and 2008. They varied from approximately $75.00 - $250.00.
Unfortunately it looks like there are really only 2 guys in The Registry who are serious about this set. Although I know the top guy ("Mets-71"), if he wants a card, WILL WIN IT!
Again, best of luck with the grading!

Thanks again, everybody! It was a lot of fun to open these packs. I think there are a couple of strong candidates for PSA 9 in the bunch (both commons), and I think the Hunter and Perez are both at least PSA 8's (I hope). We'll see - I plan to submit several of these. I'll scan them in for you guys this week.
Agree that Menke has a real shot at a 10...great pulls!

I was thinking of taking 1978 or 1979 OC commons and reseal them in the wax wrappers. Then video tape me ripping the resealed packs and purposely damaging the card's corners maybe bend some of them up as I take them out of the packs. Just to get a rise out of BBG...
It's been a while since I've opened anything, so I had to pull the trigger recently on some boxes that I personally think are one of the best buys out there - 1983 OPC Baseball. It's a small set and your chances of pulling both the Gwynn & Sandberg rookies are very strong. In fact, you're likely to pull more than one of each in every box. BBCE sells these boxes for $70 a pop - so I dove in deep. I'm not going to video tape these rips, as it's going to take a while to get through everything - but I plan to scan in any nice hits.
<< <i>Good Luck Jeff, great buy, can't wait to seem some GEMS!! >>
Thank you, Mike! Both of the big rookies from this set are relatively low pop - so I've got my fingers crossed that I can pull at least one gem. The Gwynn has notoriously bad centering, though - so I've got my work cut out for me.
<< <i>Jeff, Looking forward to seeing lots of big hits. >>
SORRY MIKE ... I MISREAD YOUR MESSAGE!
Jeff .... good luck on your rip ... Hopefully you will be showing us multiple centered copies of Mr. Gwynn!

Okay - I ripped it all, and I took no prisoners (well, technically - I took a handful of well centered prisoners).
I ended up averaging about one Gwynn and one Sandberg per box. The centering on these cards was super rough, and those OPC edges made things difficult, as well. To add insult to injury, I pulled three Gywnn (2 that were pretty well centered) gum cards - which are currently being frozen. Here are the best of the top four cards from this set - Gwynn, Sandberg, Riken & Ryan. For those that aren't familiar with this release, the Boggs rookie did not make it to the O-Pee-Chee set. Unfortunately, I don't think I pulled a GEM Gywnn - but one of them might have a shot at a PSA 9.
Don't bother freezing. It doesn't work with OPC card stock from the 80s. Ah, the famous 83 tilt. If you get one box from a case with a tilt, don't bother opening the other boxes. Sorry, I didn't see this sooner. When it comes to 83 cards, you're better off almost always buying graded.

I think that Denis Menke looks like it at least has a shot at a 10. The Hunter and Perez look like 8's to me.
Good luck with the submission!!!
Edited to add: Perfect job as always with the video. The Canadian National Anthem was a nice touch too.
