BBCE National Group rip sign up thread - OPEN TO EVERYONE

Let's give it a shot!

Based on the responses on the other thread and PM's to me, it appears that Saturday morning (August 7th) at 1PM would be a good time for everyone to get together and rip.

We have 12 days to sell these out. Sign up for first 7 days is reserved for those that will be attending the convention. Starting Thursday the 29th, any packs that are not sold will be available for everyone else.

For those that will not be in attendance, I will ask Steve if he can ship them out the Tuesday or Wednesday after the show. If not, I will ship them.

I will take a printout of this thread with me for BBCE to mark off the names as the packs are picked up. If BBCE ships the packs, our normal rates will apply. Any I have to ship will be in whatever size USPS flat rate box applies and Paypal gift payment can be sent to me. I will ship them the following Monday.

Payment can be made through paypal at bbcexchange@sprintmail.com or by phone at 800-598-8656 to use a credit card. Please wait untill we are sold out before sending paytment.

Our regular shipping rates will apply and please WAIT UNTIL ALL BOXES AND PACKS ARE SOLD BEFORE SENDING PAYMENT.

1-5 packs---->$3.00 plus insurance
6 packs or more---->$5.00 plus insurance

The added insurance rate is exactly what www.usps.com has listed:

$50 and under---->$1.70
$50 to $100.00---->$2.15
$100.00 to $200.00---->$2.60
$200.00 to $300.00---->$4.60
$300.00 to $400.00---->$5.55
$400.00 to $500.00---->$6.50

Prices are based on our normal per pack group rip discount which I assume we will still get:

    My advice is to schedule the pickup/rip for Saturday morning at 11AM instead of 10AM since the show opens it's doors at 10AM. Unless you're on line to get in at about 9AM, you wont be near the inside until about 10:30 or maybe even 11 since it's Saturday and most of the world is off from work.

    Just my suggestion.

    Changed it to 1PM since that is after noon and I won't look like a complete drunken nerd drinking beer and busting packs of pictures of men.

    $225ish for a couple different packs. 72 Topps Series 1 PSA 9, 75 Topps Cello with Killebrew on Front and Winfield on the Back PSA 10, and 73 Topps PSA 9.

    I'll finish up the 86 FB (4 packs) and do 4 of the 79 FB as well.

    Since I won't be able it hit the National this year image I may be in for more 79s if they don't sell out.

    Take pictures. I just want to confirm that card collectors aren't as dorky as the people at the comic/star trek/whatever convention in San Diego last week. That sounded like nerd fest and I kept telling myself "baseball card collectors are not as dorky as comic book collectors."

    This sounds like what our group rip could be like:

    "By the way, here's a great idea for a bachelor party, a guys' weekend or whatever. Let's say you have 12 guys in all and chip in $100 each to purchase this 1980 Topps box. You go out to a big dinner and get drunk. Instead of getting dessert, you open the box, pull out all the packs and mix them up in a pile. Everyone gets three. You open them up one at a time, going in a circle, three packs per person, three turns around the circle in all. First of all, would this be the most exciting 20 minutes of your year? I say yes. Second of all, if this was a televised show, would you watch it? Actually, yes. I think I would."

    Lists updated. took me 2 days to drive to Baltimore and we didn't sell out in that time? WTH?

    Going to kill the 76 Topps baseball if they are not sold out by Sunday night.
