thenavarro's 2010 Fantasy Football money league OPINIONS REQUESTED FOR NEXT YEAR'S LEAGUE

I'm going to try a money league on Yahoo this year and thought I'd see if any of y'all want to play. Entry fee is $50 per team and you can only have one team per person. You must pay me your entry fee by August 1 via paypal (payment owed so no fee) or I will open up your spot to others that want to play. Maximum number of teams is 20, and if the league doesn't have at least 12 teams, then I won't have it. Playoffs will be 8 teams, with 4 division winners automatically advancing. You can see the draft times and settings below.

Prizes will be paid out as follows:

Champion- 50% of pot
2nd Place- 25% of pot
3rd Place- 15% of pot
4th Place- 10% of pot

I posted it in the sports cards & memorabilia forum as I really didn't see a forum that would fit.

If you want a spot, please PM me your email address and I'll send you the sign up information. I'll keep an updated list in this thread as to who has registered. Your spot is not held until you register, and if you register and haven't paid by August 1, I will delete your registration and take someone else.

Has anyone actually played in a league with 20 people before? 16 is a lot and 20 seems kind of dumb. By the end of the draft you would already know whether you were eliminated or not with 20 teams. Also seems injuries would play an even bigger role than normal.

I disagree completely..unless you don't know what you're doing--in that case, then, yes, you can get buried quick in a larger league. But a 20-team league forces you to draft wisely, and let's face it, who had Jamaal Charles or Miles Austin on their roster on Opening Day last season? There are TONS of players like that who emerge as productive players as the season wears on..

There are 4 divisions, so in order to get things balanced out where each division has the same number of teams (to make it fair), then the total number of teams has to be divisible by 4 (IE, 12, 16, or 20). The maximum I set the league for is 20. We reached the minimum of 12, so we have enough to play. If only 15 people sign up, then the last 3 will have to be dumped to put it back to 12 (3 teams per division), if 16 people sign up, then all 16 are in (4 teams per division), if only 17,18,19 sign up then we'll drop the last couple to get back to 16 (4 teams per division). If 20 people sign up, then all 20 (5 teams per division) are in and there will be no more spots.

Right now we have 15 signed up, so we need one more to get to 16, and 5 more to get to 20.

Hey Mike....20 teams is WAYYYY too many. You will have 2nd and 3rd stringers on your team, and if you have any injuries or bye weeks whatsoever, you are crushed, as there will be noone available on the waiver wire.

I actually like the challenge of as many as possible, to be honest.

Maybe cap it at 16, so everyone can have two starting QBs on the roster?

If we have 20, QBs get a little tricky.
