I started thinking about the Kitco rhodium sponge after seeing an article earlier today and decided to take a look at how well someone would have done had they bought it on the day of the announcement (April 19).

    Aren't there huge buyer premiums and seller discounts, too? Plus there is almost no market.

    At this time, it is very pleasing to own gold. Especially gold that has been purchased many years ago - and in quantity. Cheers, RickO

    And the longer you hold it, the longer you go without having to pay taxes on it. The problem is that the government thinks that the government should have it, and at some point, they will own a significant chunk of your gold, and mine. A very good reason to keep track of any losses from the sale of any other assets that you sell in the meantime, and to make sure that you only sell to offset those losses.

    True... I actually purchased most of mine less than 2 years ago at below $800 oz .... 50% gain in less than 2 years ain't to shabby in my book. On the other hand, I also purchased most of my Palladium about the same time for about $290 oz.... sold it for about $550 oz about 2 month ago....even better.

    As they say... timing is everything.
