<< <i>The problem with great pitchers is that their own team relaxes and the other team brings their A game. No run support for the young flame thrower. >>
Strasburg is done with his Sub .500 Tour (Pirates, Indians, White Sox, Royals), and emerged 2-1, with a 1.78 era, 0.947 whip, 5 walks, and 41 strikeouts in 25.1 innings pitched.
He now starts his "Welcome to the NL" tour against the Braves (42-30), Mets (41-30), and the Giants (39-31). If everything lines up, Strasburg will face Matt Cain when the Giants come to town.
Cain knows all about Strasburg's run support problem. Cain lost a 0-1 game earlier this season where the only run he "gave up" was unearned.

I wouldn't dare saying anything like that. They're major leaguers. For no other reason then plenty of self interest, every single batter on every single plate appearance, I'm sure they're doing the best they can to get on base. >>

I have to ask...while you are 'looking' busy at work peering through that microscope and wasting your employers money, is your previously vise-like grip on your manhood now lessened because you realize your heroes Mazeroski and Bradshaw may not be as good as you think they are?
Or are you just upset because you are a hypocrite?
It's nice to see that the Nationals are starting to score alot of runs for the kid. He has a shut out going into the 7th and the Nationals can't score a single run in the past 2 outings.
Out after 5....pity. Good teams know how to prolong atbats, foul off pitcher's pitches and raise pitch counts to get rid of an ace after 5 or 6... Mets look to have probably the best staff in the NL along with St. Louis and if they add Lee.....ugh. Stras looked shaky at first, but settled down. Too little too late.... Guess the 25k card dropped about a grand today. At least he won't get the loss!! Speaking of ace's getting 'fouled out' of games, Verlander starts soon. Another ace somewhat easily figured out.....

Normally, there are only two types of pitchers that the Giants have problems with: 1) pitchers who throw with their left hand (and don't play for the Brewers) 2) pitchers who throw with their right hand (and don't play for the Brewers)
If Strasburg fits either of those two categories, then this might be a bad game for the G men.
However, after scoring 36 runs in 4 games vs the Brewers, I'm thinking that the Giants should send their batboy to sneak into the Nationals' locker room and stich a small Milwaukee "M" somewhere on Strasburg's hat where he wont see it.

Also, it doesn't take a genius to recognize that it will be extremely difficult to maintain a 41 to 5 strikeout to walk ratio.

He lost his last game pitched because the Nationals can't score(1-0 loss)
