Spots on US Mint packaged coins ?

Do those who have kept their silver eagles, gold buffalos and Saint-Gaudens .999 reproductions in original US Mint containers have problems with white and red spots?

I can only comment on the SAEs, but here in the PNW, no, I have no had spotting issues on anything I have purchased from the USmint and kept in their containers (or even out of their containers as a matter of fact)

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I have found plenty of spotted ASE's in mint tubes from sealed monster boxes. Same with silver maples.

The price of gold is set by faith, or lack of, in the currency it is priced in.

I wonder what the COIN SNIFFER will have to say about those.

I was mostly interested in the .999 bullion pieces.

Personally I've not had the problem, but I've seen examples of it.

I thought that gold was "a noble metal" that didn't react to normal atmospheric conditions. So what is this about .999 gold?

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I don't recall seeing anything of mine go bad other than the Lincoln Cents in the years with the purple backgrounds.

The .001 sometimes reacts and sometimes in unsightly ways. With silver there is sometimes a white spotting problem that many attribute to the "wash" at the mint.
