Opinions, info & grade on this raw 1834 half dime

I always learn so much when I request opinions and info.

Bought it from my favorite dealer a few weeks ago.
Have trouble imaging small coins like this. Appears a little grainy here but pleasing to me in hand.

I guess it has some sort of cud on the rev. which I find interesting and not detracting.
Going into the 7070.

The wear is odd. The obverse only grades VG-10 or Fine -12 with a tail wind. The reverse is a very pleasing VF-25 with the exception of the "cud" or whatever it is at 7k. The trouble with the "cud" is that I would need to see the edge. If the edge is disturbed, like rim damage, that kind of messes up the coin. The high points look to have been cleaned, but in this grade I don't find that to be a problem, at least no for me.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

If you were to only get one reply, you recieved an outstanding one from Bill

I think he summed up my thoughts better than I could have

It's not a cud but I like the coin, it's honest. Great for a 7070.

The issue is that the reverse ended up with the better details at the time the coin was struck- I am not convinced that the wear is odd- the obverse detail one would expect to see was never there to begin with

The dealer split the grade F/VF.
I like the idea that the obv was never as detailed as the rev.

As far as the reverse, the rim in that area is perfect. Square with perfect reeding. ??

    Thanks for your input.
