5 years ago his last angel was $1650. I guess he revised it.

he did remind us of volatility between 1600? and 1764? i think that was yesterday.

nothing surpries me. yet the channel is seeming to steepen and more QE seems to be a neccesity

    angels are here somewhere

i think they are milestones for the POG. although not infallible steps that are not broken to fall lower.

we are seeing a big sell-off from his latest angel (1681) which is often common. less common, IMHO was the quick move through a few from 1600.

he felt that ~2300 was the highest that the POG was going which is roughly an inflation adjusted level of the POG in 1980. he now feels that this is actually not as high as gold will go. he has in the past few years been hinting at what Martin Armstrong and Alf Fields are preaching which is a much higher POG.

hope that helps a wee bitimage

Wishful thinking, if anything it may drop below $1600.

  • CNBC said gold could fall $50 to $100 if margin requirements are increased. Could be a good buying opportunity.

I find it interesting that margin requirements are only increased during downward pressure in the metals.
    Thus increasing the downward pressure.

    Down $30 from the top.

    How low will it go?

This should be about it. This retracement was very much needed to recharge the short term charts to continue upward movement.

Still off less than 1% from yesterday's close. Doing a lot better than a lot of other investments.

    Angels: ....... $1444, $1521, $1600, $1681, $1764, $1849, $1936, $2025, .........

Sinclair has tagged the $1764 angel with special significance. That's the point that all confidence in fiat currencies is lost....and another bout of acceleration begins.
Basically above $1764 the sky is the limit.

$1650 has never been an "angel," just Sinclair's 6-10 yr target number. That was a number he conceived back as far as 2002 in order to balance our sovereign debt.
Unfortunately our Sov. debt has increased a lot since then. Now that number is >$7,000/oz. JS says he adapted the angel's system from a sequence that early 20th
century trader Jesse Livermore used on new stock issues. He calls it some type of "squares" system but once the $1024 angel was hit, it has just been a sequence of
sequential and additive odd integers commencing with +65....hence $1089, etc. We're now up to using +$83 as the next integer.

Shades of January 1980? I would bail but I feel we are just beginning, albeit a long one. Once you get your head around the trillions and trillions of debt and the virtual vacuum of 'common sense' in DC I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. My sentiment was confirm by Jim Rogers who said today there is still a 20-25 year uptick on commodities. Keep stackin'.

    $1800 / $1700 = 6% in 3 days.

Many stocks do that and nobody gasps. Keep it in perspective. Besides, would you rather have paper right now?

From the second post in this thread:

$1201 down to $1,190 and back to $1,207 in about 30 minutes. Quite a day!

    That was May 6, 2010.

    15 months and $600+ later...
