I haven't paid a lot of attention lately and thought someone could give me a quick idea.
Thanks, Bill

$1,650-1800 in OGP I've seen lately.

The 2009 Proof Buff. (raw with OGP) is selling for around $1500 on eBay...UHR slightly higher.
    PCGS F/S 70... is another story... MS70 F/S PCGS

These coins will continue to pull high asking prices because they were not initially cheap from the mint.

Thanks for the feedback. Weiss, I wish mine still looked like that!

There have been dozens (if not hundreds) of mint offerings over the years which now sell for much less than the mint's original price. I dont see your analysis as being a valid factor at all.

I traded silver for mine. Box was open already.

I'd open it any way. I bought for the coin not resale(any time soon)image

People are reluctant to sell coins for less than they paid. Many of the coins which sell less today, at least significantly less, were issued more than 10 years ago or are set related, such as proof and mint sets. Look at the modern gold spouse coin as a perfect case study.

My baby boy turns 1 on Thursday. We named him August, in part for my wife's father (Augustus), and in part for Augustus St. Gaudens.

I got this one for him. I'll keep it unopened and give it to him when he's old enough to appreciate it image

This solidifies my point about how the mint's issue price has nothing to do with a coin's future price.

The fact that the first spouse gold coins issued at a less expensive price are trading for less today than those issued with a more expensive price solidifies your point about how the mint's issue price has nothing to do with a coin's future price? How so?
