<< <i>Soty, please post examples of coins that are superior to the Sonnier coins in "monster color". If true, these should be killer coins. >>

I'm looking forward to it. It's time for Soty27 and coincollector2007 to impress us with their monster color coins.

Isn't marauderrt10 pompous with his toners too? Where's he been?

    boy.......where have I been. image

You have a dealer trolling here who is doing nothing but shameless self promotion in order to sell these coins to other forum members at unreaslitic prices. If that is not true, then why mention crazy prices? And why have your dealer email and web site all over your name? Why brag about the grades? The guy could have just said hey, wanna see some cool toners? No, he had to hype them to oblivian.

These comments are WAY out of line and not needed here. Larry and Brian have been asked on many occasions to post pictures of some of these coins.

and I agree......if anyone thinks these are "chance" AT you gotta little homeowrk to do.

One thing I learned early-on with toners................no grades, no fights. ain't that the TRUTH!

I dont get this. The first post was submission results, hardly bragging and no images. Then a image was linked best he knew how on his site. Someone else mentions price and that is considered dealer hype. It is never fun watching a thread go downhill. Safe to say the OP will never link to the site again now that he knows the direct image link.

Lets let the market determine the price and leave it off this thread. I think the intent of the thread was to show a submission result and some pretty coins.

No I am not 25, I simply stated I did not think the coins you posted were 4k morgans, its my opinion and believe it or not I have the right to my own opinion regardless of what you or your forum groupies think. I am not pompus about my toners and never said any of mine were any better then brians coin, I simply stated the ones posted were not 4k toners. He had several that were 4k plus toners and they sold for that and much much more. Yes I have/had toned morgan that I felt were better then the ones posted, once again my opinion and I have the right to my own opinion. I'm sure there were plenty of $5,000.00+ coins in that collection. Don't you think Legend who originally bought it would have sold them to their customers? Do you really think two/three dealers would miss $5G coins before Larry bought them? Unlikely.

The images of coins in this collection are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen in all my years of collecting. if I had the money, I'd buy another piece. I just hate seeing other collectors buy into the BS that gets spread around here. When he said he sold 2 coins for $5G and then they possibly got resold for $8,000.00, thats when I knew it was all sales hype. Sorry if I have said things you guys don't want to hear. This isn't the BST forum.

What education did anyone get from this thread? All I got to see was some pics of monster coins for sale probably at uber prices. >>

IMHO "coincollector2007" you are inexperienced when it comes to the Battle Creek coins...I own some of the finest examples from both the Sonnier and the Battle Creek collections and it never came to my mind when looking at them which collection had the superior coins...From first "hand held" experience both collections have some of the most fantastic amazing character coins on this planet...
I don`t know about the "BS that gets spread around here" but i can tell you one thing for certain i do not feel buried as you say under any of these coins...Battle Creeks included! I actually feel very fortunate that my hard earned dollars went to acquiring such amazing coins for me and my family...
And congrats to "PQpeace" for his success on getting those coins graded and for posting those beautiful coins... image

My "issue" is with the way you sometimes post. As in making the accusations you did against Brain Wagner recently. As in the way you suggested I re-read a post of yours in that thread, simply because I asked you a question. As in the way you told Larry he had missed your point in a post of yours in this thread, when he responded to you. And as in the way you insulted almost everyone on the forum with your comment I quoted earlier. I can't quote your insults and comment on them if you don't post them in the first place.

FYI a large % of the posters on this board are dealers or writers & their wealth of experience and knowledge is what makes this place so special. Don't make the board choose between you and them as I suspect your account won't be valid for long with your writings about a respected dealer, forgetting that what you think isn't fact but is merely an opinion.

I'm very sorry to see this happen!

I know Larry and Mark, both are knowledgable dealers.

I think the OP was intended to share some Very nice PCGS graded morgans.

Larry thanks for sharing them. Also want to say hi to Steve.

    Well, let's see something here:

By the way 3 of the (known as) dealers have carried themselves in this thread, I can see myself buying from 2 of them (Larry and Mo...I mean Mark image ).
I don't see myself wanting to be bothered with someone who carries their attitude around in such an insulting way as Curly....errr Chris image

    Good luck with them!!

    Larry,

The coins you posted here are stunning, as were all of the sonnier coins. In my opinion brian put together an amazing collection of toned morgans that I believe were simply top notch and could rival any other collection of toned morgans, I honestly think that brians collection was the best to date. I will swing by your table next week at central states and take a gander at the ones you have left if any by then.

    Mark,

Fair enough, I do tend to pop off at the mouth on the forum and post immediatly what crosses my mind without any thought of how it may sound. Its a fault of mine and something I will try to work on, you have met me in person as well as many other board members have, I dont go around with a big chip on my shoulder or thinking my coins are better then anyone elses. When things get typed out on a screen they can sound a million different ways then they were meant to be intended and something I must keep in mind when posting.

    Bochiman,

If you ever meet me in person you will see that I am far far from what I seem to be on the boards. I just type some things the wrong way and seem to come off like a pompus jerk on occasion, once again a fault of mine.

    << <i>Look folks-we now have prices!!!!

    So educational.

Go ahead and call me insulting too. Dealers should not troll these boards to sell! >>

He's not trolling and this thread was educational, so far I've learned alot. I learned about the different toning patterns and color combinations on Morgan Dollars. I learned that some types of Morgans didn't tone very well and if they did it was hazy. I learned about the Battlecreek sale, the boom and the subsequent bust of the toned Morgan market. I learned that their are about three differnt camps (so far) in the Morgan market, the Toners (like GSAGuy), the technicals like you and the dip to blast white guys like ricko.

While I appreciate your warnings about these coins being overpriced and am keeping a wary eye out for PQPeace lurking in the depths below ready to entice me into wasting ( my) money on gsaguys former coins, I feel one warning would be sufficient. We are not a herd of buffalo stampeding towards the "overprice toned Morgan" cliff. If we aren't able to distinguish an overpriced coin for ourselves and we also don't head a single warning of a board member, then theoretically we are buffalo and will remain buffalo and will overpay many, many times over our life.

If...(it's always if cause you never really know)...these coins sell at PQPeace's asking price then the market is set and he priced them correctly. You can either come up to the market level or if you think it is overheated you can sit it out (or sell yours to us buffalos).

gsaguy : PQpeace - beautiful coins, a pleasure to look at (time and time again).
PQpeace - hopefully you are able to sell the coins to a collector who values them at that level and appreciates what they bring to the table (technicals or lack thereof included).
Mark Feld - quit lurking and being so damn mean, jumping out of nowhere to provide your opinion. (however education/informative it may be). (kiiiidddinnngg)

Nice toners. Now, as far as prices go, they're only worth as much as someone is willing to pay to an equally willing seller.

Because, quite frankly, as much as we like coins, many love coin drama just a little more.

    Those Morgans are amazing.

The best thing about this thread is that Larry learned to post pics.

By a comment like that, what "drama" are you trying to stir up?

One more thing. PQpeace/Larry, I can't help but notice your just having changed the title of this thread from "11 stunning coins" to "Sorry I made this post." There really wasn't any call for that, IMHO. From a grading standpoint, I'd think it's pretty clear to all, here, those coins are every bit those PCGS assigned "market grades." It's just that, let's also face it, market grading, in itself, is grading gone a little soft in the head. And, as such, one has to figure, those grades are an example of that, too...

I don't think that is fair to Larry or to PCGS (or even to the coins). I have seen a number of them in person and do not feel that the grading is liberal.
