I'm getting close to that number myself; you have my condolences.

We should work to live...not live to work.

I retired from the Army after 20 years and am now almost 5 years into my second career.

    Happy Anniversary.

Whooda thunk it. I thought you were just a newbie yellowkid. image

Today's also my anniversary at work.
Only 6 years with this company, but I've worked in the same field since high school - 1991.

It's hard to believe it's been 19 years.

You are lucky to have been able to get 30 years with one company. I worked in corporate America for 23 years, but it was with three different companies. I only earned a pension from one of them, and it won't be much when I get it. I worked for myself as a coin dealer for 12 years, and that was the best in many ways.

Today companies like to fire the older workers so that they can hire the young ones for less money. That makes it hard to be with a company as long you have been with yours.

The all time record I've known was one guy in the first place I worked after college graduation. He'd been there for 48 years. They made him retire an age 65, but then hired him back to the same job as a consultant.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

There was a story in Toledo Ohio about an 81 yr. old auto worker who was shoot on his way to work a few weeks ago. He's been working at Chrysler since 1944 when he was 16 years old. 65 years senority!! Believed to be the oldest and longest seniority auto worker in the USA. Now that's alot of years on the job........and no I don't know what happened to him........
