The guy is hardly ever right. Is anyone really surprised?

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • Halladay is #7 in ERA and #4 in WHIP in the NL. His team just stinks this year. If you put his starts this year in with
last years Phillies team, his record is much better. Not his fault he's pitching for a team that has no drive as of yet. The
Phillies hitters have let him and the rest of the staff down big time so far.

He has a total of 2, maybe 3 tough luck losses. That isnt totally out of line.

He also has starts of 5, 6, and 6 ER.

Wins and losses are more a product of the team than they are the pitcher. Halladay is a horse and one of the best pitchers in MLB. He was dominant in the AL East for years on some bad Blue Jays teams. With a ERA in the low to mid two's i think he still comes close to 20 wins.

Ok, so he won't get 25. Was he hurt for a while? I haven't been paying attention. He should get 20 but not more than that.

No, not hurt. He had a couple of bad games, but the bigger issue was he got no run support in several of his losses. Games that Philly ended up losing 2-1, 2-0, 3-2...that kind of stuff. Their bats were ice cold for a while, my how that had changed this month huh???

Im pretty sure that Halladay didn't go to Philly to win 25 games or to win a Cy Young.

Good shot at 20 wins - I'll take it. image

...and in the playoffs...Halladay will reign supreme...book it!

  • << <i>I'm a huge fan of Mr Halladay and I agree he won't win 25 but I do think he should (if healthy) win 20 and be the front runner for the Cy Young.

He will get the Cy Young, and he did get 21 regular season wins, so you're right on.
Now the question is will he get 25 wins this year.

Don't laugh -- it could happen. Halladay is a cold blooded machine.

If Johnny Vander Meer could do it, why not Roy Halladay?

Having watched Doc Halladay for many years pitch against us, he deserves to be in the playoffs.
