Rainbow toner collectors.......

What if doctor came up with a method for puting rainbow toning on a coin that was totally indistingishable from natural rainbow toning. Would you quit collecting toners or would it not matter since you could not tell the real thing from the fake.
Remember, this is purily hypothetical and for arguments sake you have to accept that this doctor's toning is completely indistiguishable from authentic bag toning.

However, if a doctor did that, it is likely that the prices for toning would decrease as supply increases as greed would factor in.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

To answer the OP's question, I am not a toner collector per se, but if it was perfectly undectable, as per your premise, then I would think the premium for many pieces would drop.
Would I quit buying something with toning ... no ... I would appreciate the coins strike, surfaces, luster ... I would look for natural looking coins ... preferably those with an absolute original look, no matter ... and ones that were eye appealing to me for the grade.

Please post some examples.
The answer is really quite simple. If the perfect rainbow doctoring technique were to be developed, I think people would continue to collect the coins, but given that the supply would increase to as many as could be sold the prices would come down. It's a matter of supply and demand.
