1949D Franklin - Raw and ripe for TPG ??

Here is my most recent find... what do you think?
How do you think will it grade ? I know pictures are not good enough for FBL comments, but please give thoughts on overall
look at the fields and devices. Picked it up for peanuts.

No better images available...as I do not have coin yet.

Very few if any marks on this coin... just hope it
it is not cleaned as it may have a shot at 66.

Should have in my hands in a few days...

    it looks very clean
    -ed

based upon the un-natural luster bands
    and absolute lack of marks

  • No way to tell with those images....the lighting could be hiding a ton of marks or worse....altered surfaces. I am not optomistic that the coin will be what you want it to be image

    Hey Krypto....

Just sharing a recent purchase that could be a great find or not.
The seller actually had two that looked very similar, so I bought them both!

Worst case is that they are cleaned and have lots of marks in which case I send them back
    as the seller has agreed.

Best case is they are for real and I send them into TPG and one or both comes back 66 FBL. I replace my
1949D MS65 FBL Registry coin with one of the MS66FBL's and sell the other one for $7,000.

Not a bad business proposition in my book!

If those are the sellers images, best of luck!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

Just from the photos, it looks kinda lifeless. But, I hope it turns out the way you hope.

The surfaces do not look natural ... If that's how they really look, the coin is only junk silver.

  • Impossible to tell from those pics, but I hope you get a nice one.
Highly unlikely that it will be a 66 tho.
