Newp $5 Liberty gold coins. 3 Carson Citys. Grades in

Hello,
Had three graded the 1854 got au53, the 1882cc xf40 and the 1892cc xf40. I am happy with this.image
Just got this little group. An 1854, 1865s, 1881cc, 1882cc, and 1892cc. The 65 and 18 both are x jewelry. Is it worth getting them in Genuine holders. What do you think the others will grade? Should I get them all slabbed?
Thanks,
Richard

54 55-58 probably. Not sure what the dot between the letters T and A in states is on the reverse.
Maybe where a bullet ricocheted off it during a gunfight image
    82 35-40.
92 45-50. Might get knocked for cleaning not sure.

btw here is a link to pcgs photograde.

    Thanks,
I guess I will send in the good three at least. Does anyone have an opinion on it being worth sending in the 81 and 65s for a genuine slabs?
    Thanks,
    Richard

I'd send the 81-CC in to a specialist and get most of that awful lead solder off the reverse.

Slabbing is likely good for resale, however, if for personal pleasure, why not leave them raw? Cheers, RickO

    Hi Frank,
How do I find a specialist to do it? Any idea of what it would cost and how much it might increase the value?
    Thanks,
    Richard

1854 – AU sharpness with rim nicks – Net grade EF – it might grade, but it’s marginal.

1865-S – ex jewelry – EF sharpness – Gray bid in VF is $985, but damage is heavy, probably not worth sending in

1881-CC – ex jewelry with solder - ugly - not worth a genuine holder.

1882-CC – VF-30, but might slab as an EF-40 – nice circulated coin – worth sending in.

1892-CC – EF sharpness with minor rim dings – might grade – worth a shot at sending in.

    AU55... For the 1854
    XF45... For the 1882 cc
    AU50... For the 1892 cc

The others are damaged/tooled/ex. jewelry pieces...

Don't throw good money after bad. Sell them as is.

I agree as far as the CC coins are concerned. They wouldn't increase in value enough to offset the time and money spent.
Sell they as is with full disclosure. I can't speak for the other coins as I am not familiar with them.

I'd have a KNOWLEDGEABLE person look at them first.

That 92-cc has (along with the most others) really worn rims...almost like they were shaved.

    good luck

    Have a nice day
