I doubt anyone other than maybe GSAguy or perhaps Legend will have a picture of it. I heard it was sold to the first guy offered, well before the Baltimore show. I hope they do post pictures of it though.
Want to buy an auction catalog for the William Hesslein Sale (December 2, 1926). Thanks to all those who have helped us obtain the others!!!

ENVY is a myth. A numismatic urban legend.

I'm pretty sure it's one of the incredibly toned Morgan's from the Sonnier Collection.

Envy is a morgan dollar from the toned collection I recently sold to Legend. The coin was not certified and was housed in a single Capital Plastics Holder titled, "Envy". The coin possesses really clean surfaces, booming luster, and several shades of beautiful green color. When I saw it for the first time it took me about .0002 seconds to decide to buy it and I immediately named it Envy because of the color.

I heard this coin is to a normal toned morgan as Avatar was to normal movies. I also heard that to fully appreciate the coin you need 3-D glasses (or any one of a number of illegal drugs... image).

The thought crossed my mind today that there must be a sizeable number of numimatist collectors who can't see what the fuss over an image is all about.

Rumour has it that there is no camera powerful enough to take a picture of it without breaking and if you stare at it for longer than 5 seconds you turn to stone.image

Every one is afraid to image it, just gazing at it through the corner of your eye causes you to have a mullet----------------------------BigE

Because then the legend would be watered down, apparently.

Ever seen a clear photo of Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster?

Nope- they're always blurry and indistinct, shot from a long distance off.

    I rest my case.

"I heard Ricko bought it and dipped it!"

SSSSSHHHHHHHHHH!!! Holeinone, quiet... that was not for public disclosure. However, if you now see a blast white, booming lusterous Morgan named 'Pride'... well, just enjoy it.

  • I would love to see it as well....alas me thinks the coin is now incased in cement along with Hoffa at Giants stadium image

Seems any thread with GSAGUY involved gets great traction. I think Ricko should have been given the chance to photograph this "enigma".
Hussolo must be English or Canadian - "Rumour". image

    Wig?

Actually, someone long ago photoshopped me with that mullet. Although there was a rumor I was once seen at Long Beach with a rat on my head.image

I know I have too much time on my hands! image

PS this is a made up Photoshop job (makes a pretty cool background) but the suspense for images of the real one is killing me.

  • I would imagine it looks similar to this.

It really looks nothing like that at alllllllllllllll

  • << <i>It really looks nothing like that at alllllllllllllll >>

Now i am really curious to see a pic of this much talked about "Envy" coin. If they got a grainy pic of BigFoot and the Lochness monster and the UFO Flying saucers...can't see why a pic of this "elusive" coin does not exist anywhere at all? image

In light of the announcement of the Big One...is Envy in a Secure + Holder?
