When selling as bullion, do people generally ask for a premium for walkers or Franklins (VG-F grade commons) over, say, 1964 Kennedies? Do silver halves generally go at spot, or above or below?

When selling as bullion, no distinction is made for the above 3. They all go in the same pot. As to question # 2, it all depends who you're selling to, if a bullion dealer, below spot..on the BST or eBay, slightly above spot. When buying, expect to pay above spot...somebody needs to make a profit.

We accumulate junk silver over the counter in dimes, quarters and halves, sort it and count it. As a rule we do not pay a premium for halves.
The other day I ran the bucket and came up with about $200 in halves, $100 in quarters and $70 in dimes. The next day a guy came in and asked if we had any junk silver for sale. We quoted him a price for the lot and he took it.
Had he said he only wanted the halves, we would have charged a slightly higher rate, perhaps another .2 times face. Since he took everything, we charged him our standard markup.

However I would say that WLHs get sold much faster and are very desirable. Even here on the boards, I notice that WLHs are picked up faster than any other 90%
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
<< <i>my local store charges the same for halves, quarts, and dimes unless they are barbers or standing liberty quarters.

That's because you are always buying them.
