Interesting 10oz silver piece

Does anyone have any information about these made by Silver Eagle Sales in Walla Walla, WA? It has some nice color and there was no extra charge for the fingerprints!

I wager that your piece would garner at least $25/oz if sold on ebay. I have seen and owned several different products (all dated 1969) from Walla, Walla....and more specifically Day Mines....but i've yet to ever see that piece before. I know that the 1/2 oz and 1/4 oz bars do exceptionally well, and the 3 oz bars do very well also.

They come in a set. I've seen the set, there is a 10, 5, and some other sizes. Called the Silver Eagle collection or something of that sort. Agblox could chime in as I've talked to him about this before in the past

That's from a set that Foster's of Walla Walla issued. It included that 10 oz piece, 5 oz & 2.5 oz rounds, 1, 1/2 & 1/4 oz bars. The smaller bars sell well. 1969 was the first year and most people consider these the very first art bars produced. I'd say it would probably bring $3-$4 over spot by itself like that. The set included a nice case.

Crazy amount of knowledge between you guys. That's a cool piece.

The set comes in a black box. We had one about a year ago. Lasted in the showcase for about an hour.
Can't remember what I charged for it.

OUCH. I had a heck of a time selling my 2.5 & 5 oz round. Ended up with about 20/oz and I paid much more. Silver was around $14 at this time.

silver prices can be funny. At certain times you can get certain stuff cheap like lets say engelhard 3 ozers and then at other times they go for insane amounts.

That is cool. Never seen that size before. I do have a bunch of the fractionals and one ozs from this company though.

Did anyone ever notice that the toning on this is always very similiar. Most of my bars if not white are toned the same colors as the OP

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yes, my piece is the one from the Ebay auction linked. I've started a collection of interesting silver pieces and this one seemed to fit.

    That's a cool bullion piece Casey !

Would like to have a stack of 10 of 'em.
  • Pity about the fingerprints. Have you considered cleaning it since it's not a graded numismatic?

Don't worry about the fingerprints. On a piece like this they just don't matter.
I think they give the piece character!

That's a gorgeous piece. Those sets always go for much more than spot.
I have the ounce ingot and half ounce square piece in my collection.
I would love to own the entire set one day but cannot quite bring myself to pay up for the bigger ones.
