  • I like local. No comission, no delivery charges, no mailing address on record, no worry about the post-office, no need for credit card. Support a local B&M! Plus, you develop a good relationship with the local person so that you can more easily sell quickly for their best price if you have too.

Tulving if you plan on buy 20oz or more.

I've had good luck with Jules Karp in the past shipping charges included in premiums as they should be.

I've never bought with a credit card though. Good luck at shows too.

Shop around is my best advice.

BST has been VERY good too!image

I dig Gainesville with their much better fees on Credit Cards and super delivery times with superb material that does not appear picked over.

I've made some great deals on the BST in this forum. Let people know what you are looking for and someone can probably fill your needs.

Bottom feed on ebaY with buy it now; Bing + ebaY bucks + ebates or Mr Rebate, + AMex Blue Cash = 13.5 to 14.5% off. Haven't found BigCrumbs helpful. No big scores but nibbling away at it since last year . 2 weeks ago had insomnia one Saturday night, checked ebay and got 3 AGEs for under 1K each. Set the right price in your head and stick with it. Otherwise use APMEX or CNI (I like them OK).

  • I'm having a tough time buying online these days because my shipping address is different than my billing. Apparently I am now a thief because I don't want valuables delivered to my home when I am not there. I like Gainesville but now they don't use paypal so I can't order online without shipping to my house which isn't an option for me. As for Apmex the CC fee is crazy.

Gainesville Coins (for peace of mind from a dealer), BST has some good deals and occasionally eBay w/Bing cashback. Personally I think Apmex is pretty far down the list, their fees on credit card orders turn me off the way they roll it into the shipping cost.

What percentage do they charge to use a credit card? You do know, do you not, that the credit card companies keep a small percentage of each transaction?

How would you feel if your employer announced "As of today our payroll will be processed by the Acme Payroll Company. They will issue your checks, and will be keeping 2.5% of your gross pay as their commission."

Our gross profit on a one ounce gold eagle purchased from an official distributor is under $35. We don't feel like giving $30 of that to a credit card company.

They charge 3%. This seems to be common. They do have a shipping and handling charge that can add up on smaller purchases. I think the 3% CC charge is fair. I use CNI a lot, free shipping and handling. I've never used a CC but I understand the convience angle fot those that do. MJ

I had the same problem and ended up opening a PO box. It didn't cost much for the smallest box. I have only my credit card bills and stuff I order online sent there. The benefits are that nobody I buy from gets my actual address, and what I buy never gets left on my porch, and that's worth the $20 or whatever and the inconvenience of picking stuff up.

My regular mail still comes to my home.

Last night wasblessed to gain 10 x 1/10 oz Austrian Phil's for less than 115.00 each including shipping, after rebates. Even if pog goes to 1015 that is still ok, I'm happy cause it way beat my price. I try for silver at 11x face or less and try to pick up $5 or $10 here and there, at least every month or so. So far this month, 3 rolls quarters and 1 roll of dimes at 11.2x and 10.9x respectively.
