So far I'd give the top 5 leaders to Jmski52, Redherring, Gsa1fan, Baley, and DoubleEagle59. RGcoinguy is pulling up the rear, and then some. Cohodk, Mr. Organic, and MJ will need a serious whack to gold before the year is out to get back in the race.

    End of Year:

    Gold-$1,421.60...my guess 1,425.00 (-0.2%)

    Silver-$30.94...my guess $32.00 (-3%)

Gold to silver ratio - 45.94.....my guess "approx" 45 (-2%)

    Platinum-$1,769....my guess was 1,900 (-7%)

    Palladium-$800...my guess 575 (-28%)

    Dow-11,577.51...my guess 8,500 (-26%)

Nearly all of my trades this year were on gold & silver. So I'm happy with those. Seems the ones I spend the most time on were the ones I dialed in. I'll leave the Dow/S&P predictions to Cohodk and friends. But I'm still ripping mad that gold today couldn't find another measly $3.40 somewhere. image

Nice call MJ on that dollar index call. The interesting thing is that the index stayed within a 3% range from start to end of year while all 7 currencies were individually losing much ground to commodities.

I was off by 8% on gold.

    Off by 53% on silver.image

    Off by -4% on platinum.

    Off by 79% on palladium.image

Off by 5% on the Dow.

I hope I'm off by the same amounts in the same direction on silver and platinum next year as well.

<< <i>Very hard to make predictions. I see two possible scenarios. # 1 is that PM prices slightly fall across the board over the course of the year due to an improved economy. But the # 2 scenario, which seems more likely to me, is that PMs spike at some point due to an event like increased inflation, run on the dollar, etc.

In the event of # 2, I predict:

    $1700 gold
    $30 silver
    $2000 platinum
    $500 palladium >>

I have nothing in this as I did not make a prediction for 2010. Roadrunner was clearly the best here on PM's hands down. BTW for those who know RR is not just guessing... he live's PM's.. Take a bow my friend and cheers to you....!image

We all have our specialties/niche and it's nice to have all that knowledge condensed in one forum and readily shared.

My Irish father-in-law made an observation when he emigrated to America and that was the ease and willingness of information shared.
