It seems most folks are divided over whether

2010 will see deflation or inflation. I see a year

of hard times as well as a fairly tight range for

PMs. If there is no war in Iran during 2010, I would

expect PMs to explode in 2011 as inflation begines

its savage rise to the sky.

I have absolutely no idea where prices will be in a year, but I think it all depends on the actions of the Cabal and how long they're able to keep down the prices of these metals. I think it would be much easier to predict further out, say 5-10 years because I do believe the Cabal will lose their iron grip on the metal markets by that time and prices will be substantially higher.

    Pt - $2000
    Au - $1700

Very hard to make predictions. I see two possible scenarios. # 1 is that PM prices slightly fall across the board over the course of the year due to an improved economy. But the # 2 scenario, which seems more likely to me, is that PMs spike at some point due to an event like increased inflation, run on the dollar, etc.

In the event of # 2, I predict:

    $1700 gold
    $30 silver
    $2000 platinum
    $500 palladium

I've been so far off on my predictions that I won't make one for this year, I will say that longer term say in 3-5 years Gold will exceed $2,000 possibly $3,000 an oz.
Silver will exceed $100 an oz. possibly getting to $150 an oz.
Paltinum will exceed $3,000 an oz. possiblt reaching $5,000 an oz.
Palladium will have the widest range due to possible future applications ranging from $1,200 an oz. all the way to over $10,000 an oz
The Dow will keep rising as long as the fed and central banks keep floating this boat but at some point I can see a huge selloff then after a bottoming out process the Dow will march ahead to new all time highs and reach levels that might astound some people.

7/8, seems we are thinking somewhat the same. My 9,000-ish Dow comes after the index reaching a 2-year high and then begins its slide back below 10,000. The metals gain will mostly be in the 4th quarter. The Stimulus will have run its course. The House and Senate reverse the decision of 2008, but to no avail...the damage has already been done.

I think gold will exceed this level during the year so in essence I'm factoring in a decent sized pullback by Dec 31, 2010. Calling the Dow is much harder imo but I'm basing it on the current trend in the Dow/gold ratio which could be headed towards the 3-6 range sometime this year with a rebound in the 2nd half. If gold ends even higher it will allow the Dow/gold ratio to be higher. Sinclair has predicted $1650 gold by 1/14/11. If that comes I think it will be in 2010. Market cyclist Clif Droke already likes the Dow for 2010 based on QE. It's usually a bad idea to go against him. He had predicted 2009 to be bullish for stocks right up until the end of the year.

Well fellow pm gurusimage it seems that gold and silver are a strong buy by our predictions.

The concensus lows are only 10% on the downside with a consensus 25-30% on the upside.

A decent 2.5-1 risk reward. Question, are you buying?

Yes, I'm a strong buyer of silver at these prices and will be till at least $50/oz. I might pick up more palladium as well. I have no platinum exposure and don't feel it's necessary, and haven't added to my gold holdings since about $900/oz and probably won't, deferring instead to silver.

Just a WAG from me, I think this year is going to be interesting in many ways. I would not be surprised by a successful terror attack. I would not be surprised by the Fed Mopping up as much money as they can from the system to combat inflation starting pretty quickly this year. I will not be surprised at a route in November 2010. I would not be surprised if a lot of the "green shoots" turn brown and die.

I would also not be surprised if everything I wrote above proves to be wrong.

    Justacommeman,

Yep, I'm a buying silver...in fact, bought my first 90% silver and traded for my first 10 oz'ers this year (and I JUST completed buying my first Morgan Dollars!). I hope to have 1,000+ oz's or equivalents within 2 years, but it may be too late. If I'm fortunate enough to get any bonuses, at least half will go to silver purchases.

Gold for me is too lofty (which obviously means plat is even further out), but I do follow it's path closely...and I have to admit: I feel quite empowered lately.
