Think before you post ...

There seems to be an increase in posts involving someone claiming that such and such an online auction is a scam.

Many of the auctions may well be just that but ...

... can you back up your claim?

Think before you post. Sometimes it really is best to just mind your own business.

I agree somewhat. Unfounded accusations have no place here. However, a lot of posts are a healthy discussion on a particular lising or seller. These discussions help others to learn the warning signs of buying on ebay. My recent post is a case in point:

    Ebay seller

I was a victim to this seller and hopefully kept others away from him. I was fortunate that paypal buyer protection came through.

I see nothing wrong with posts like "I think that I'm getting taken for a ride here. What's your opinion?". The posts like "This guy is a crook" could, I suppose, cause a problem though if there was no proof to back up the claim. Overall, my opinion is that a forum member does the hobby a favor when he/she calls unethical transactions to the attention of the rest of us.

Usually posting from the hip might just get your foot in your mouth but there can be real repercussions.

Yeah, I agree, but like that will stop these people here with diarrhea of the keyboard. Some people will post if they have a hangnail. Cheers, RickO

Most of the posts I've seen here been have warnings about junk from the Chinese mint offered on eBay. Anyone who specializes in selling that garbage on eBay deserves to ousted and banned from eBay IMO.

I'm thinking about posting about what it might be like if I had a hangnail.

Coins are like people. Some get rubbed the wrong way.

( I had to think about this twice before I posted it image )

L@@K! Late Great Uncle's Estate Coin! PQ! 1861 SLQ from the Civil War era!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This POS coin belonged to my late Great Uncle-in-Law's Mother's Brother's other Brother and it's been in my family for 100 years.

PQ for sure! I'd grade it MS-63, but hey, I'm no coin dealer so U-grade urself and bid accordingly. And I'm starting this auction off at a mere fraction of its value at only $99.99....L@@K!

The free exchange of ideas should not be repressed. However, the OP seems to make a reasonable request concerning the forethought in preparing and the precision in presenting arguments that condemn others. I, for one, will try and honor that request...Mike
