............... but I do know it is better than having no silver and no gold.........
I do think the investor will know whats right for them once its in their safe place.
But...
If an investor asks such a question... its probably not enough, and they would buy more on the right opportunity.
If an investor doesn't want to talk about how much they have... its probably more than enough.
Another way to look at it...
If you like the price action over the past say 6 months... you probably have what you NEED.
If you're not happy... you know why.
You seem to have a good head on your shoulders... peace.
Yes thats a very good amount. You have more than 99% of the US population. Forget what others think, you will have guys that will say that it is not a lot but just be proud of yourself and for what you can save up and buy.
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
That is a nice hoard of silver.. I think I would move on to some smaller fractional gold like the 1/10 AGE...
In round numbers: this person has roughly $6K in silver and $2 in gold. If they are comfortable with that, then great.
If it were me [& it's not], I'd get a couple more ozs of gold, even if it meant selling 1/3 of my silver. A good play? Maybe in the short run.
In the long run that 350 ozs of silver should generate a nice return. $25 silver is not too far into the future.
In the short run, gold is headed for $1300-$1400 by next fall. If you can still get in at $1100, you will generate a nice short term return.

I've asked him before if he was from outside the USA (not like it's not completely obvious), but he ignored me. His style of English makes me think it's not his native tongue, and that's why it's so confusing and hard to understand.
175:1 ratio of silver to gold is not unusual; I've said before mine is 500:1, and there is a thread on this topic already.

What are you doing crawling around by living room?

So true, I have some friends who for the most part live a middle class life, but spent $10,000 on a new couch. (More than the current total value of the bullion mentioned in the original post.) As often is the case, the husband thought it to be insane, and the wife got her way. When the couch was delivered, it wasn't all that. To me it looks nice, but not much nicer than a typical mass produced couch that might be 90% less money. I would guess there are exactly zero single men on the PM forum who have a new $10,000 couch in their living room. Everyone has different priorities.
So who am I to say if that amount is a bit much, or too little, or just right. Investing is part psychology, part religion, along with the actual money part. Each person worships at a different altar (or none at all), and each person has a different investment personality (or none at all). Even if all the relevant information were given (income, age, net worth, career prospects, dependants, liabilities), there isn't a "one size fits most," kind of answer.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

You guessed right here. My sectional cost $900 and works quite well thank you.
I suspect that it will be valued at >$20,000 before we know it.
I knew it would happen.

It's right if it's enough to make a difference.

We'll start another PM forum called Prison Mate Forum. See u there cause, I'm NOT going to buy gov run health care or pay a penalty. I make my own decisions concerning my health.
