If the picture is showing the true color of this piece, the coin is too pale. It is either a very brassy planchet or the coin has been dipped.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
Looks like an attractive Lincoln. I have a few that are very similar that came out of rolls, so I would say your coin acquired its' toning from an original roll.
I would probably pass as it looks dipped out to me. Then again, pictures can be deceiving. Frankly, the value on that coin is so low, even in a 66RD, that you might as well try to find one that you like that's already in a holder.
Bruceswar, Don't see the original mint luster. Possibly the lighting in the pic? You should know whether or not with it in hand. I don't like the splotches in the center of the coin either. Rim toning ok, but symmetrical. Shag
That coin's color in the center, with ragged edges appears to be a stain, as oppossed to the coins 66RB presented, which have a smooth transition of toning. I had a beautiful 1916 Lincoln in a high condition grade that had a similar type of splotch and was bagged for "questionable color" by PCGS. If your coin is not slabbed it may not make it. JMHO.
P.S. For those of you talking about the color, this is what this shot is. There is a ton of luster on this coin, but I chose a color shot. This is 1 of 2 coins I bought that were in old school David Hall Holders.

that's all that matters (to me),
do you like it?

Looks like a nice, albeit common, gem '37-D. Worth about $30.
I think the color's original but pictures can lie.
