And now we bring you the US Coin Forum's exciting game...Guess The Alt!?!? aka... an Alt or Not an A

OK... who is this "newbie" ocon4008? I mean...really... who the heck is this character? I go out for dinner, come back...and there's this nut job posting up a storm...
Maybe CU should have started issuing licenses to post here BEFORE this one signed up... so then we could give him and/or her a ticket for reckless posting...

Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free

I check in occasionally , I am on a coin holiday thru August. Hold the fort down my friend.......I'm too busy metal detecting the rivers and beaches of AZ's recreational lakes.
Hoard the keys.
...and for the record and FWIW... whenever "Family Guy" comes on the boob-tube (such an appropriate term when referencing that show)... I don't just change the station... I turn off the TV so it can be purged and cleansed... to me, the popularity of that show is a definitive sign of just of just how far down the road of moral decline this society has travelled...
...I'm just saying... it's just MHO...
...and anyone who chooses an avatar from that show... well, there is absolutely no way I could EVER take any of their posts seriously...
PS...it took me quite a while to give any serious attention to another poster here...one who chooses an avatar that does not lend it self to serious discourse... yet that poster has shown himself to be a Real One...
This ocon4008 reeks of alt and/or troll...
I guess only time will tell...
edited to add this post of ocon from another thread...

Enjoy yourselves; I have broad shoulders. As long as you are picking on me you are leaving Russ alone.

They are IVORY! Only a pimp from a New Orleans whorehouse would carry a pearl handled pistol.
George Patton
Not the first time ocon referenced Russ...
I doubt he would be mad about that nor worried.

Actually...BongoBongo ( only posted once ), in my opinion, was one of the most hilarious threads ever posted on this forum. That fruitcake is not wasting his time on this Forum, but making tons of $$$ with his abstract form of so called street art.

maybe I should get me an alternate IP address and give that a try...give this joint a real good shakedown...
Must not have a (real) life.
As for bongobongo....some thought it was funny...I found it to be stupid.
That was just (another) ahooka alt I do believe. Just like "turtlesvdb" was.
Of course, people will encourage others like that. It's a shame as they really bring nothing of value.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

While this may be a good guess... after exchanging a few PM's with ocon this evening, I think he may just be an exuberant newbie...to coins as well as this forum... as I told him... I wish him well and time will tell... I do get the feeling he may surprise us and settle down...stick around...and join us here in the "fun house"

He also reached out to me and I gave him some advise. I want to believe that he is just a newbie and opinionated at that. I'm leaning on believing him for what it's worth............If it turns out that he was yanking my chain as an alt so be it........It wont rock my world.......MJ
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

BINGO!! We have a winner. Ladies and gentlemen, hold your cards, it appears we have a bingo. Yes we have a winner.
Thank you one and all for playing our game.
I apologize to all who misunderstood my original intentions, and I hope you will all will accept that my intentions were honorable I just went about them in the wrong way. I really want to thank MJ for taking the time that evening to explain the rules to me. I look forward to meeting you all in the near future. If you come to Baltimore look me up; I will be across
the street at Hooters bird watching or up in Fells Point having a beer.

Who is 'bingo'?
The farmers dog of course.

It wasn't his comments that caused the thread to be poofed, but all those idiot monkey pictures posted by others.

My favorite.. Only a true collector would make such a comment.
"If you buy what you like, at a price you can afford at the time, then things will be easier. If you buy what other people like, borrow to fund it and expect multiple of return, then you are likely to be unhappy. Bongo say nearly everything depreciates over time. Bongo would not pay $500 for a silver bell this Christmas and expect it to be worth $550 next year, but Bongo knows a Silver Bell is not old coin. Or is it? Bongo maybe not surprised that old coin is like any other limited non essential commodity and subject to the whims of taste and market. Put the coin in book and enjoy it. If it is worth more when you come to sell it, well done. If not, then you have had enjoyment out of it. Remember that old coin is only worth a few dollars in physical material value – This is why value is an esoteric concept in many ways and it may be vulgar to assign any monetary value to old coin unless you are a Russian Oligarch or Chinese shoddy goods factory owner."
Is: ocon4008 ... yaha? or one of his neighboors? ..... both live in the great State of MD.
Just wondering

That post by Bongo was probably one of the wisest posts to ever grace this forum... IMHO... and I really mean that...
