mintnewsblog huh?

Who is the person behind this blog? How does he determine what are "Notable Auctions"? Is this blog just a thinly disguised marketing tool? Inquiring minds want to know!

Not sure who, but I recall that he is a member here. In all fairness I have found useful information at his site.

It's a good site. Nice to have detailed info about current and recent US Mint stuff that's hard to dig up otherwise. I doubt he decides which auctions are notable. Isn't it just something like he gets paid to host the ad, and the ad-seller just promotes eBay'ers who pay extra to get wider exposure for their listings?

Those ads and their cousins are all over the place these days, aren't they. You know, just a few months before your join date of May 2009, we had to get used to when even our beloved host Collectors Universe started running the Google Ads at the top and bottom of the page!

Here's a link to his blog - I find it extremely useful. And no it's not mine.

BTW, did you happen to notice that just about every website has ads these days ... sheesh ...

No idea who he is - but his site is a daily read for me. I've had a few of my auctions listed there and certainly see a notable traffic increase when it happens.

I would assume he determines what are "Notable Auctions" by picking out ones he finds note worthy. And for what it is worth, your post reeks of sour grapes.

Well I was wrong. In an allied site, coinupdate.com, he does actually pick auctions to promote. It's not random, like I supposed. Still it just looks he picks out the ones that are classic for type, like what pheh says, noteworthy.

IMHO, no disguise at all - just straight up blogging entrepreneurship! He writes about stuff some people want to read about, he tells about auctions some people might be interested in, and maybe he makes enough to make maintaining those sites worth his while.

    Oh, give him a break!

I like that site alot, and the auctions he highlights are often the same ones that I would search out anyway. And I'm not him, either.image

One of the better sites for US Mint products. I have it on my favorites.
