Sorry, I couldn't bring myself to post this gem in the "stupidest numismatic question" thread.

I think you should take this coin to the ANA show and submit it in using the same day service option. Claim it's some sort of valuable variety that's worth $5,000.

That killed it for me also.
I should have passed... now I will probably just end up selling for a loss.

I think it would just miss the genuine holder.

No I think it might come back as "scratched."
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I didn't think they "bagged" anything anymore, they'll just throw it into a Genuine slab.image

"Claim it's some sort of valuable variety that's worth $5,000."

It is the 1969 S. I'll bet if this coin turned out to be the Doubled die obverse, somebody here would pay a thousand dollars for that coin.

I've been saving all the "street change" I find for about a year now.
Just for fun, last month I counted it all up and it added up to over $13 - free money is free money I guess.
