Forget fungos, they dont even hit infield practice anymore before the games.

I personally trust StantheMan's opinion on Mantle autographs. He quite frequently helps me out concerning Mantle and has been an invaluable resource. I'm sure that he doesn't get 100% right, as no one does, not even the industry leaders that are paid handsomely for their services, but when it comes time to spend my money on a Mantle, I will trust StantheMan's opinion.

    FWIW,

If it comes with a GAI COA then it is authentic.

without reading this whole thread, is PSA/DNA "quick opinion" searching eBay now for fake autographs and having them cancelled?..

usually when someone pays PSA/DNA for a quick opinion on ebay, and they deem is not likely genuine, PSA will notify ebay and have the item removed.

Hasnt been mentioned...but without being paid for quick opinion, I doubt it.

Plus its a GAI authenticated so they really dont have any vested interest in that.

If you run a PSA/DNA quick opinion on an item and it comes back as Likely not authentic, then the item vanishes on ebay typically a short while later (sometimes a couple days). It won't appear in search results or anything. PSA/DNA is not actively looking for items I don't believe, it's only if someone utilizes their services.
