Yes, but considering that is correct, and considering the Phillies are still in first place, that must mean that the teams behind the Phillies must really stink. 1/2 of a Ha!

I really can't argue with that. The Mets are way too inconsistent and are having way too many errors. They had 3 in one inning tonight! You don't win too many games like that

Hate? Hate? Does that mean Ray Knight stopped sending Christmas cards to Calvin Schialdi?

No, he just sends them to Bob Stanley instead, LOL!!

at least the Sox fielded some teams that could score more than a run or two a game
So have the Mets.
I would hope that the Sox over an 80 year period fielded some teams that scored more then a run or two per game.
The fact remains that they sucked for almost 80 years.
Cmon you can do better then that.
Steve
Swartz! I see you finally came out from under your bed. Where were you when the Sillies
were losing game after game and were only .5 ahead?
Bandwagon fan are ya?
Steve
<< <i>Sox didn't suck in 67 and they were really fun to watch when they were hitting tons of homers in the late 70s. And who could forget 75? So they sucked for most of those 80 years, that much is true. >>
Agreed, except I would not say they necessarily "sucked" for most of the 80 years -- they were consistently competitve in the 80s, 90s, and thru 2003 as well. And they had great, memorable players over the years such as Williams, Yaz, Fisk, Tiant, Rice, Lynn, Boggs, Pre-Roid Clemens, Pedro in his Prime, etc. No World Series for 80 years did not mean bottom dweller for 80 years (like the Cubs).
Bill Simmons on espn.com goes through this in exhaustive detail if you need more proof, WinPitcher.
