    Somebody hit the BIN.

EBAY will stop the transaction, in any case.

It was givin to me by my father a long time baseball fan who won it at an auction in LA. I'm attending college and need to pay my funds so i have no choice but to sell this rare card.

In college huh? He may end up in prison if he goes through with this sale.

Wow, he's done this more than once. Tried selling a 7.5 a couple days ago

Edit: Listed as a 7.5 but in an 8 holder. This guy is brilliant!

he sold it twice in 2 days.. I told him last night it wasn't the same card in the picture...
and he said can you explain what that means exactly...
I told him to take a picture of the card with todays date on a piece of paper next to it.

I also asked if it was his family in the pic??
( I believe that is Mickey's son on the left but could be wrong)

    he never responded
  • I have a feeling this one may be just a protective eBayer like the last guy that dinged him as soon as he hit the BIN.

The guy that bought it probably did it to save some buyer all the grief. With 800 feedback he must know that this card is not for sale. Right?

lol, a $250,000+ card and he's selling for $8000. Looks like a deal to me. Where do I sign?

I was gonna buy it to just to save someone some grief.. especially with no neg feedback possible

The thief's account is subject to the 21-day hold policy at PayPal.

Not sure how he planned to get paid.

Usually, a pro will offer the buyer a discount after the sale if the
buyer agrees to send a check or money order.

    Hi Bobby,

The Mick had 4 sons. Billy (age 36) passed away in 1994, and Mickey Jr. (age 47) passed away in 2000. His 2 living sons are David (age 54) and Daniel (age 49) ....... none of the 4 sons are pictured in that photo.

Obviously with the pic of the people, the guy was holding a drink and the scammer photoshopped in the card...and a poor job at that - that would sure be a surprise to the folks whose pic he copied off the net, if they happened to click on the auction and see their pic on there.

Are you ever right stevek? That picture is from last year's East Coast National at the Westchester County Center in NY where the promoter of the show (JP's Sports/Rock Solid Promotions) auctioned off an SGC 1.5 Mantle with the proceeds going to The Foundation for Sight and Sound. My personal friend Jimmy Ryan (the J of JP's Sports/Rock Solid Promotions) is pictured in the center. Raffle shown on their website

I bought 5 raffle chances ($20), but did not win.

This whole scenario of selling expensive cards at a bargain price, well below what they would sell for even on ebay, is nothing new. If ya remember Toni's Cards he was a master scammer likely based somewhere in Russia pretending to own a B&M cardshop in France and Italy. I don't know whatever happened to good ol' Toni - wouldn't be surprised if he was found dead floating in the Volga River.

The 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 9 is back on eBay. What I am most curious about is the Buy It Now price, e.g., how did he arrive at the $8,000.00 asking price. The seller could ask, for example, anything from $1,000.00 to $100,000.00 and the card would be an absolute bargain, but why $8,000.00?

    but why $8,000.00?

He is hoping to lure in someone that thinks he will be getting the buy of the century.

He is hoping that the person that buys it will be greedier then he is.

Could be, just a total guess, that he knows about the "threshold" for criminality in NJ - Perhaps if it's 10K or more, there is tougher and faster law enforcement involved...but again, just a guess. Could have been a random scam number he thought of. We should ask him why he chooses a life of crime whereby sooner or later he's gonna get what's coming to him. And of course it's possible he doesn't even live in New Jersey or the US.

Either a new pirate-buster or the seller's 0-FB alt hit the BIN.

    That's the second "sale" today.

I spoke to T&S, five-hours ago. They said they were "on top of it."
    Obviously, they're NOT.,

I think the guy that got taken for the 5500.00 one in 6 should have waited and got this one.

This one was the better deal.

The RICO-Protectorate know as EBAY T&S has removed
the NEG left by the last buyer of the card.

This CLEARLY proves that the left hand of that filthy gangster
outfit does not know what its right hand is doing. T&S told
me they were "on top of it," eight hours ago.
