Ugh, I think I might be done for awhile. In the past few days, I've knocked out 1956 through 1960 and I'm more than a little sick of scanning and cropping. I've created a few web pages that have things a little more organized. If you'd like to take a look, here they are:
I'm really liking the '63s - must be all the purty colors. You guys that grew up in this time period, what was it like going from the color & business of the '63 set to the pretty plain '64s? Just wonderin'.
Man, been a long time since I've updated this thing. Just finished up the 64s. Probably one of my least favorite sets, but I do really like the World Series cards. Wally Moon's unibrow is downright scary!
Holy Cow!!! Being a Yankee fan I must admit that is very impressive. I am doing the same with the Yankees but I only the Topps sets fro now. You just got me into collecting all the other sets as well. Again, not much to say but Nice. That is what collecting is about. Sometimes I find the cards that are old look nicer in rough condition. It gives a little of its history. Way to go.
<< <i>Did you know you have a Pete Rose rookie mixed in with your Dodgers? >>
Sir, I don't know who this Pete Rose character is that you speak of. I've always wondered why Ken McMullen's rookie is so darn expensive though - it's not like he amounted to much.
Birth year set. When I was a sophomore in high school (1982), I pretty much gave away all of my cards to a local guy for like $20 or something - one of the worst decisions of my life, but girls had become waaaay more interesting than cardboard. At any rate, I did keep some of my Dodger cards, plus I received some '66 Dodgers along with the $20 - probably like half the team set. The only three I'm sure I received were the Brewer, Koufax and Moeller, because I remember to this day the missing corners. I've had nicer '66 Koufax cards enter and leave my collection, but the one in my team set will always stay.
Also included in the set is a '66 Venezuelan Wes Parker that I received for Christmas this year.
What a labor of love this must have been for you -- not just the scanning and editing, but finding which cards you needed and tracking them down. I know I enjoy the heck out researching a given set to add a Senator or Twin to my type collection.
One of my least favorite designs of all time - it did provide me with an Airplane! flashback, though. "Now batting for Pedro Borbon, Manny Mota...mota...mota" For those that don't know, Borbon and Mota never played together. Not sure why the writers paired those two, but whatever - still one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.
I went through the entire thread and replaced every large image with a scaled-down one. I've been worried that the size of the scans has been deterring folks from looking through the thread because of either long load times or screen capacity. Hopefully this makes them easier and more pleasing to look at. Thoughts on that?

Nice Dodgers was my favorite team growing up in socal. Those 70s card really bring back memories, esp the Cey cards, he was my favorite. Very nice collection. Good to see such a dedicated focus
Dodger collection update! 1981 will always be one of my favorite sets. Ripped a lot of this as a freshman in high school. I always loved the hats and the bright green all-star strips.
Thanks for sharing. What is beautiful in this hobby is there is no right way or wrong way to collect, as long as you are enjoying your collection. You have some great cards, and I enjoyed looking at them.

Joe, seeing as you're a Giants fan, I'll take that as a high compliment. Hopefully one day you'll see the light and realize the error of your ways.

That situation is being rectified. Thanks for reminding me.

Good stuff!
It's funny how I tend to like the designs other don't - the 70T design is not a favorite but not on my 'dislike' list either.
BTW - I had forgotten - so, I have to say - the "Penquin" is in good company on that RC card!
Thanx!
