Yeah - I can't imagine what I missed on these modern ones...a 6 on an Ultra? How is that possible? This was like a big kick in the nuts - definitely not the grades I hoped on my '79 or '85 football - the rest was mostly for ships and giggles.

you know it's been awhile when your favorite first year player card goes in for grading and finally lands in your mailbox the day after you return from his Cooperstown induction ceremony.
I know it was a huge group sub, but nothing should take this long. >>
Our 2176 card order consisted of cards from 1953 to 2009, all four major sports, miscellaneous sports and non-sports. They were listed on the submission form in alphabetical order by submitter, so the cards are mixed up in grand fashion (instead of some reasonable order by sport, by year, by product, by card #, etc). Each of the orders would likely have to visit multiple departments (based on years of issue and sport vs non-sport) and would likely be put at the end of the line whenever it reached the next department. It's what we need to deal with when we do these group submissions.
The cards were logged in on July 23 and with the National and Labor Day since then, I believe we are on day 27 today. Half of the cards in the order have popped already, so considering what we paid per card for an approximate 45 business day turnaround time, I think PSA is doing great with this order!
I'm with Craig. I see people complaining about not even waiting 30 days for a total of 2100 cards to get authenticated, graded, and slabbed and I wonder what kind of crying they'd be doing if they waited 48 days for a 200 card sub.

It would be the same kind of crying for me, no different than now.
I understand the 27 grading day thing. But it's been 87 days since I mailed my cards out, not 30. I mailed mine out on the deadline for this group sub. Forgot that Craig ended up extending the deadline to a few slow guys an extra few weeks, that's making it seem like it's taken longer than it has.
And let's not forget, this didn't turn out to be a great deal after all. The $4.50 per card was offered to anyone as the monthly special the following month. At least that was my understanding.
In any event, they'll eventually get graded, and it gives me something to look forward to when I check the boards everyday. So sorry if I came off as crying, I enjoy being in the group subs. Had to type in something to get it bumped to the top.
Neil- is your stuff obscure non sport stuff, like tea cards? I'm curious what you sub'd that's taking so long
And, as a whole, MY comment was directed at people complaining about the group sub itself- not anyone getting hosed on their own personal sub. And speaking of the SEC....they were lucky to escape UW on Saturday! After that near-victory I'm stoked for the future again!

I don't collect, deal, or have anything to do with Tea cards
My stuff is not off the wall one of kind Non Sports, it is a mix of 50/50 Football, 70's 80's and some pre war main stream Non Sports. Even having to go to two different areas it should not take this long. And I was wrong today, it is Business day 45 for my Oldest sub of 12 cards.

Neil, I had to dust off this beauty from the last group sub. I had forgotten how funny I was, or at least I think that I'm funny.
Yeah, lets give D-Mon a non-sports shout out
"" YEAH, WE GET TO WAIT ""!!!!!
In all fairness though, he did sub some really sweet non-sports, nearly a full third were from the obscure Canadian release of "The Wonder Years/ L'ans D'enchantmente", which are like super rare. Card #269 " Winnie finally gives it up" is really hard to find centered due to its placement on the full sheet. He subbed two and both have a shot at a ten, WOW! In addition to those two stunners, he's subbing a perfectly centered "Kevin and Winnie buy their first pregnancy test". Which we all know, has yet to garner a grade higher than a 8, let's keep our fingers crossed on that one!

Seems like this one has drug (or is it dragged) on for a long, long, long, long, long time.
Your great grandkids are now the recepient of the cards
Your modern is returned vintage
Your cards are returned raw as plastic is no longer legal to own
You get a call from Joe O. III that they are on their way
Your cards are not mailed back to you but 'beamed'
The King of Pop says "Wow, and I thought I waited a long time"...
PSA rep calls and says "We've found Burge's fingerprint on your auto card..."
You answer the knock on the door to find a PSA rep with your submission and a folded PSA flag.
PSA calls and says they are not shipping your cards back because "It's not worth it".
Receive hold
Instead of your graded cards in the PSA box you find a loupe and a J ruler.

And grades DO pop on Fridays
BTW, the SEC went 11-1 in the first week of college football. The Bulldogs of Georgia lost to a top ten team. I was pulling for them.
And, as a whole, MY comment was directed at people complaining about the group sub itself- not anyone getting hosed on their own personal sub. And speaking of the SEC....they were lucky to escape UW on Saturday! After that near-victory I'm stoked for the future again!
<< <i>Neil- is your stuff obscure non sport stuff, like tea cards? I'm curious what you sub'd that's taking so long

<< <i>Neil, I had to dust off this beauty from the last group sub. I had forgotten how funny I was, or at least I think that I'm funny.
